This week our Golden Ticket winners were rewarded with a skating party and our 2nd-6th grade scholars were invited to spin the wheel in recognition of their hard work on their assessments.

For the safety of our staff and scholars, PLA@93 now has a check-in system at the front desk for any visitors that enter the building. If you arrive at school for a meeting with any staff member and enter beyond the front desk, you will be required to present a valid ID prior to entry. Please be aware that you may be asked to return to your car to retrieve your ID or possibly reschedule your appointment if one cannot be furnished at the time of your arrival.

We will be hosting a fun after school activity for scholars next week on Thursday, February 16th. More information can be found below.

Our 6th grade scholars will visit with our staff from JRPLA next week. They will be presenting to them some of the opportunities that they will have if the attend JRPLA next year.

The window for parent input on school ESSER funds has re-opened and available for you to complete a survey. If you previously completed an ESSER survey, it is not necessary for you to do again. The window will remain open until June 24th.

As a reminder, Scouts will take place on the following dates: February 13, February 27, March 13, April 17, May 1, and May 15.

Our after-school event will take place next week after school. Scholars will need to return a permission slip with $2 in order to participate. Permission slips have been sent home with your child.

The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) application to help pay energy and water bills is open from October 3, 2022, to May 15, 2023 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time.

Families can go to IHCDA: Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for additional questions and to find the EAP application.

This year, PLA 93 has enrolled in the Box Tops for Education program to raise money for our school! Box tops has done away with the traditional box tops clips, but now they have an app where you can scan your receipt and earn points instantly. Box Tops are worth $.10 each and they add up fast! Twice a year, our school receives a check to help pay for whatever we need - equipment, supplies or experiences the kids love! This is a very easy way to earn money for the school. All you have to do is shop, scan, and earn points!
