FISD Technology Online Workshops
This semester the FISD Technology Department will offer several online workshops through our Learning Hub. You can learn awesome stuff to use with your students while in your jammies and earn Professional Development credit! Talk to your Technology Integration Facilitator for more details about any of these workshops.
Moodle Madness
Have you wanted to get started in the Learning Hub and just been sure how? Here is your chance to see what all the hub is about! Three levels of Moodle workshops will be presented this fall. Click on the links after the descriptions to register in Eduphoria's Workshop!
Moodle/Learning Hub 1.0
- This is an online course. Learn the basics on how to set up and manage a simple Moodle course in the FISD Student Learning Hub. Time will be given to plan and develop the shell of your Moodle site in the Student Learning Hub. Items that will be covered: resource descriptions, adding Google Docs, embedding YouTube and other videos, enrolling students, creating and managing groups, forums, and assignments.

Moodle/Learning Hub 2.0
- This is an online course. Learn some of the advanced features offered by Moodle in the FISD Student Learning Hub. Time will be given to plan and add the advanced features to your Moodle site in the Student Learning Hub. Items that will be covered: grading assignments, chats, choice, glossary, questionnaire, wikis, roles and permissions, blocks and calendars.

Moodle/Learning Hub 3.0
- Transform the look and instructional strategies of your Moodle in the FISD Student Learning Hub. Time will be given to plan and add the features to your Moodle site in the Student Learning Hub. Items that will be covered: image mapping to make your Moodle look more like a webpage, add quizzes, upload from ExamView, create self-prescribed lessons to differentiate for your students, add peer evaluation activities, and learn how your students can create their own databases.

Digital Citizenship
The Internet can be a scary place if you are not careful. Cyberbullying, Sexting, Online Predators, Identity Theft - just a few buzz words you have probably heard when talking about about the evils that lurk in the cyber world. This class is designed to give you some information and tips on how to set up a few safeguards to protect yourself when you are out surfing the world wide web. We will discuss privacy settings and Net-iquette (Internet etiquette). This is an online class and you can complete it at your own pace. All parts must be completed to receive credit.

Discover Discovery Education
You know Discovery Education has lots of great videos to share with your students in class, but did you know that Discovery Education has an encyclopedia, over 30,000 images, thousands of sound effects, songs, and many other resources? You can even make these resources available for students outside of class or for flipped lessons. Students can have their own login and use all of these fantastic resources anytime and anywhere they have an Internet connection. Come check it out!

Technology BINGO!
Let's play Bingo! Here is your chance to explore various technology tools/applications that you can use with your students. Explore Voki, Nearpod, Socrative, VoiceThread, and many other applications. Just like in Bingo, if you complete a line, you win! There will be 16 squares on a virtual board. Complete 4 squares to make BINGO and earn 3 hours of credit. You can earn 3,6,9, or 12 hours from this course depending on how many BINGOs you complete. All information will be delivered online via the Learning Hub.Your course instructor will be in contact with you when the course opens to give you instructions on accessing it.

Gone Google
We will take a look at 6 Google topics over 4 weeks. Assignments will be due each week on Sunday by midnight. The six Google topics you will cover will be Google Docs/Drive, Google Drive Organization, Google Spreadsheet/Presentation, Google Forms, Google Sites Part 1 & 2, and YouTube.
