Chapter 9: Communication

The most important thing in communication is to hear what isn't being said.

-Three main types: Verbal, nonverbal, and written communication

-Being an effective commincator is necessary in the workplace!

-Communication process includes: a sender, receiver, noise, and feedback

-Take time with all written messages! SPELL CHECK!

-Must be professional and appropriate while communicating at work! No bad language!

Chapter 10: Accountabilitiy & Workplace Relationships

You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.

-Take responsibility for yourself!

-Try to refrain from dating at work

-Maintain positive relationships at work

-Handle negative relationships appropriatly and respectfully

-Make your boss look good!


Chapter 11: Teamwork, Motivation, and Leadership

The price of greatness is responsibility.

-Use teams to accomplish goals!

-Everyone can be a successful leader

-Communication is a must have for effective teamwork!

-Teams need to compromise

-Don't allow conflict to cripple your team!

-Make an effort to become a better leader

-Express your own opinion!


Chapter 12: Conflict and Negotiation

Make your attitude the difference.

-It's completely natural for conflict to occur

-Don't hold grudges! (It's immature)

-Find your method to deal with conflict and harassment!

-STAY PROFESSIONAL!

-Solve conflict as soon as possible!
