Leadership. . .
Mentoring
Mentoring is just one way in which you can develop your leadership skills with colleagues. Mentors will find themselves taking on three different roles:
- Consultant: offers support and provides resources
- Collaborator: creates challenge and encourages growth
- Coach: facilitates professional vision

A Few of Your Thoughts on Reading Leadership. .
I am the type of leader who develops trust and respect from students and staff by demonstrating care towards others, participating in ongoing professional learning and adhering to a professional practice.
Leaders. . . instill a sense of trust among group members.
It takes courage, determination, enthusiasm, collaboration and
dedication to become a strong leader.
It doesn't matter what you do, it just matters that you are there to help lead and show the staff ways that they can improve their reading programs.
A good leader has keen respect for all staff members; understanding that they are only one piece of the puzzle.
Overall, reading leadership promotes a love of literature and establishes life-long, confident readers.
My role as a leader is to act as a facilitator to change.
Remember as Reading Leaders that it may be better to do each step carefully and correctly than to make sweeping transformations poorly. What is one change that you can make in your classroom right now?
