ELA is leading the way!

Using Google sites for the ePortfolio

Mindy Woods will show us how to create a Google site.

Sequence for TWAs

Using Google calendar for due dates:
  1. Assign appropriate TWA for your students.
  2. Have students upload their TWA best product to their Google site.
  3. If you want a hard copy for providing feedback, collect the hard copy from students.
  4. Using shared rubrics for appropriate TWA type of writing, holistically score TWAs.
  5. Using shared online form, provide general feedback on your students' samples.
Department meeting:
  1. Bring 3 low, 3 middle, and 3 high samples to dept. meeting for discussion.
  2. During dept. meeting, provide more specific narrative feedback as a department.
  3. Share strategies for improving writing weaknesses before next TWA.
  4. Record narrative feedback on shared (5-8) Google doc for assigned TWA.

Shared ELA Folder and Google Calendar

Once your Google account is set up, we will all share an ELA folder that contains the rubrics, feedback summary forms, and other docs or charts we may want to share. We will also share a Google calendar with all due dates for TWAs on it.
