ParentSquare at Southside
From the Desk of Mr. Backmeyer...
PARENTSQUARE is here at Southside! ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
So, what does this mean...
- We will be using ParentSquare for the rest of 21-22 school year to communicate with parents from me, Jeff Backmeyer, about Southside. I will also send information via Remind and Southside social media through the end of this year. Next year for the 22-23 school year, classroom teachers, teams, PTO, and other BCSC schools will be using ParentSquare to communicate also! Download the APP because this will keep all your communication needs in 1 place! You can also use the desktop version at www.parentsquare.com.
- This will evolve into a tool we can use to keep flyers from the bottom of your child's backpack, sign up for parent/teacher conferences, event notification, etc.
- Southside will have it's own app and online portal! If you have students in multiple classrooms and/or other BCSC schools, it will keep all of the information in 1 place for you!
- Once you get your invitation, you can
- activate your account & login
- make sure the school has your correct email AND mobile phone number
- Go to Account - Preferences - set your notification preferences in ParentSquare
- you can choose WHEN you get notifications (immediately or in a daily digest format) and you can choose YOUR LANGUAGE setting
There are five ways a user can register their ParentSquare account:
- Click activation link in email or text (click here for notification examples.)
- Sign in to ParentSquare https://www.parentsquare.com/signin using the contact information (email or phone number) that matches the data in ParentSquare.
- Click link in a post or message.
Users who did not register previously in response to an invitation, will be asked to register the first time they click on a link to sign in or sign up. For example, if an unregistered parent/guardian receives a post with parent-teacher conference sign ups, clicking the link to sign up for the conference will first lead them through the process of registering their ParentSquare account. - Web-Based - Go to https://www.parentsquare.com/signin - Sign Up/ Create Password with the email or phone number that is on file at Southside.
- Download ParentSquare App
- Open the ParentSquare App. Enter your email or cell phone number. The email and/or cell phone number should match what is in your school's information system or database. Tap Continue.
- Create your password and confirm your password. Tap Continue.
- You will receive a registration code via email or text. Enter your registration code and tap Verify. This will take you to your ParentSquare home feed!
March 11 UPDATE...
PARENTSQUARE UPDATE...
- We are 5 days in and I think it is going well?! We have had people receiving messages via email, text, and the ParentSquare app!
- I am NOT trying to annoy you with the invitations, BUT we will be using this as our only communication tool as we move toward the end the year and for the 22-23 school year! Southside families should be sure to register their accounts so that they can update notification settings and check previous communications.
