Early Life
Eva grew up poor dreaming of becoming an actress, she and her sister Erminda often made little performances as kids. Around the age of 15, Eva moved to Buenos Aires to become an actress, she worked with a lot of companies. In 1937 she got her first role in "Segundos Afuera" and got a contract to perform on the radio; Even over the next few years she continued in stage production.
Eva's Career
She was around 20 years old when she started her own entertainment business, called "The company of the Theater of the Air", which produced radio programs. In 1943 she enjoyed one of her greatest successes. She signed on to portray a number of famous women in history on a special radio series, giving her the opportunity to play the likes go Queen Elizabeth the First, Catherine the Great, and many more.
Eva's Legacy
Perons life changed dramatically when she married Juan Peron, a colonel and govt official in 1945, whom became the president of Argentina the next year. Eva used her position as first lady to fight for things she believed in, which included women's suffrage, and improving the lives of the poor. She also unofficially ran the Ministries of Health and Labor in her husbands govt. Eva became a legendary figure in Argentine politics, being a skilled speaker she was adored by the poor citizens she worked so hard to help. Peron had asked to run for Vice-President, but was taken down by the army and her own illness. Eva made her last public appearance was in June 1952 at her husbands second inaurgation, then the next month she died of her cervical cancer.
