ELA Benchmark
On Tuesday, January 12 all students who are not enrolled in a Special Education Regional Program will participate in an ELA benchmark. Because of the abrupt disruption to learning and teaching caused by the pandemic in March of the 2019-20 school year, this benchmark will evaluate student mastery of ELA standards aligned with the previous year's instruction. For example, 8th grade students will be evaluated on 7th grade standards, 7th grade students on 6th grade standards, and 6th grade students on 5th grade standards. This information will further support personalized, data driven instruction in our classrooms through the end of this school year. In March, students will participate in a grade level aligned benchmark intended to again further inform personalized, data-driven instruction through the start of end-of-grade/course testing in June.
Students should join their Core 1 class (this will not be an elective class) by 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. More information can be found on your Week-at-a-Glance information.
Asynchronous Day
Wednesday, January 13 is an asynchronous day for all students. Please ensure that your child completes all assigned learning activities in Empower.
Quarter 3 Materials Pickup
On Wednesday, January 13 between 10:00 a.m. and noon, families are encouraged to pick-up Q3 instructional materials in our carpool lane. Families who are not able to collect materials at this time may collect them from our main office between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14 or Friday, January 15.
Please contact April King (aking@wcpss.net) with any questions.
Math Benchmark
On Thursday, January 14 all students who are not enrolled in a Special Education Regional Program will participate in a Math benchmark. Similar to Tuesday's ELA benchmark, students will be evaluated on last year's content.
Students should join their Core 1 class (this will not be an elective class) by 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. More information can be found on your Week-at-a-Glance information.
