Mrs. Lee's Class Newsletter
Week of February 10, 2020
What's Happening?
Conferences sign-up information is in this week's Friday Folder. You will receive an email as well. I am looking forward to seeing everyone.
Friday, Feb 14th is a snow day. Therefore we will be out of school. Students are welcome to bring Valentine's cards for their classmates on Thursday. I am asking that each student bring a bag (like a medium sized gift bag) for collecting cards. The student's name should be written clearly on the outside of the bag.
Log reading minutes on Beanstack.
In this week's Friday Folder: Class list for Valentines, book fair information, conference sign-up information, Fox Theater Field trip information

More info on the two field trips are coming soon. You can go ahead and complete the information for both on mypaymentsplus. You do not have to wait for the permission slips. We will be taking two chaperones per class to the Fox Theater in March. If you are interested in joining us, please let me know. Due to space at the Fox, we will not be able to have more than two parents per class.

Math (Mrs. Lee's Class): We are finishing up with converting measurements. We will start learning about volume of rectangular prisms and line plots.
Science (Mrs. Lee's Class): Constructive and destructive forces test is on Monday. We will then begin the second part of this unit focusing on how technology can help stop these forces or give us warning signals of them.
Social Studies: We are continuing our study of the Cold War.
Reading: We are working on improving our comprehension skills with different types of nonfiction reading such as technical texts, historical texts, etc. We will also spend a good amount of time with constructed response questions. We will focus on breaking them down to determine how to answer them and what details are best to include to support our answer.
