Creators' Community is waiting for you to Devise, Design, and Discover with an all-day, hands-on open house on the main level of the library with new tech and library services. Computer Skills Workshops

Workshop #1: Basic Computer Orientation
Saturday, June 6, 1-3 PM

An introduction to the parts of a computer, hardware vs. software, documents vs. applications, and keyboard and mouse functions. Students practice opening, closing, minimizing and maximizing windows within the Windows Desktop environment.

Workshop #6A: Spreadsheets I
Tuesday, June 9, 10 AM - Noon

Students will learn to use electronic spreadsheets to organize, process, and display data. We will use automated processes to take advantage of the powerful features of electronic spreadsheet software. Prerequisite: Workshop #2 or equivalent experience required.

Workshop #9: iPad Basics
Thursday, June 11, 6-8 PM

Students will learn about iPad buttons and ports, and practice important touch screen gestures. We will learn about the icons on the main home page and use some iPad apps. We will explore some items in the ‘Settings’ menu, and practice downloading from the App Store. Prerequisites: No experience necessary, but students must bring their own device.

Do you have a tablet, eReader, laptop, or device that you're not sure how to work? Need some assistance with downloading eBooks? Do you need a little guidance using computers? We can help!
