OPPORTUNITIES
Ag Innovators Experience
Calling all teen leaders! Nebraska 4-H is seeking facilitators for this year’s Ag Innovators Experience, Protect the Plate. We need three state facilitators to attend the national training and provide leadership for local facilitators. We need 20+ local facilitators to deliver the Ag Innovators Experience in their communities. Applications are due Nov. 22, 2023. More information and applications are available at 4h.unl.edu/ag-innovators-experience.
The Otoe County Extension Office would LOVE to work with youth to participate in this program! Please consider applying. If you need any help with the application, please contact the office and we will set up a time to help you.
Building a Project Book Library
Do you have project books lying around that you have already used? Could they be used by other youth & families? We will be taking project books to build our Otoe County 4-H Council library for families to use. We are looking for project books that aren't outdated or completely written in. If you bring a usable project book to the Open House/Project Fair, you will earn an extra raffle ticket!
Very exciting that 4-H has snagged a spot to showcase our youth’s designs during Omaha Fashion Week 2024.
Nebraska Association of Fair Managers: Martha and Don Romeo Scholarship Application
The Nebraska Association of Fair Managers will award a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H male and a $500 scholarship to one qualifying 4-H female who are graduating seniors in the state of Nebraska and who plan to continue with post high school education. The scholarship will be awarded at the annual NAFM convention in January. Please share the application, found at https://www.nebraskafairs.org/newsletters.php, with high school seniors in your county.
Applications should be submitted to local Extension Offices by Thursday, November 30.
The awards recognize 11th-grade students from Nebraska who are talented in visual art, dance, music, theater, and film and emerging media arts (which includes film, 3D models, interactive art, sound design and video games). These students exemplify the pinnacles of creativity in one of the fine and performing arts.
