School-Based Return to In-Person Learning
Dear Families,
I want to let you know that our planning for welcoming students back to full in-person learning is going very well. Just a reminder to please connect with me via email (john.nieratko@mansfieldschools.com) to indicate if you are planning to move your child to or from the Virtual Remote Cohort.
If you were unable to watch any of the recent School Committee Meetings regarding our return to full in-person learning plans, you can watch them on demand on the Mansfield Cable Access Site. In addition, School Committee Agendas are listed here.
This week has been very exciting to see students transitioning to their Specials. For some of our third grade students, it was the first time they were on the second floor of our building. In addition, the students in the team teaching classrooms will begin to transition from one room to another prior to April 5th.
We are also going to strategically implement some changes to streamline lunch/recess transitioning. One change will be the implementation of barcode cards that students will present to the lunch cashiers. Staff members will help with the management of the cards so students will not need to worry about keeping track of their cards. We will begin using the cards prior to April 5th.
We will have additional social distancing signage in place and work to reinforce all safety guidelines and expectations for all students as we enter into this new phase. We are excited to view this as another First Day of School, all over again!
Our Return to Full In-Person Learning Family Meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 22nd at 6:30PM. We will send out a link for the meeting Monday morning as well as post on our website.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.
Thank you,
John Nieratko

THIS WEEK'S SHOUTOUTS!
Logan D in Mrs. Gentili's class puts his best effort in everyday. He is always up for a challenge and is doing a fantastic job in math!
Akshaj (AJ) in Ms. D'Onofrio's class enjoys making birthdays special, especially through Google meets. At the beginning of the school year, AJ took it upon himself to create customized birthday slides for every student in our class. Camren Y in Ms. Lepage and Ms. Unger's class is a great classmate and has been working very hard every day!
Damon D in Mrs. Gentili's class faces new challenges every day with an open mind. He enters the room ready to learn and is working hard in ELA and math!
Violet R in Ms. Ulrich's class is a very conscientious student and manages the demands of remote learning with excellence!
Julia S in Ms. Rathgeb's class is a very kind and hardworking student. She has been participating more in class and I love hearing her thoughts and ideas! Keep up the great work!
