Enrolment Scheme
Pre-enrolment procedures and subsequent balloting procedures for Lauriston School’s Enrolment Scheme 2022-2023
Kia ora ma Whanau Huirapa o te kura Kotuku Lauriston,
The board invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Lauriston School for next year-16 September 2022-16 September 2023.
Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available from the school office and on our school website-https://lauriston.school.nz/enrolment-info/# .
Pre-enrolment can be done via either of the following ways:
Through the school office: admin@lauriston.school.nz or
Through the school website: https://lauriston.school.nz/enrolment-info/
Through the new entrant teacher: georginat@lauriston.school.nz
The deadline for receipt of applications for out-of-zone places is 15 September 2022. [This includes students applying to be treated as in-zone students under transition provisions.]
If you have already pre-enrolled prior to 25 July 2022, there is nothing you need to do-one of our staff will be in contact with you soon to confirm your child’s enrolment-or of the need to proceed to ballot- for the 2022-2023 school year whether they are in zone or out of zone.
Families who have pre-enrolled following the introduction of the school zone on the 25th of July will also be contacted shortly to confirm their child’s enrolment-or of the need to proceed to ballot.
For families who have pre-enrolled for 2023-2025 your child’s enrolment status can be clarified by visiting Education Counts to view our Enrolment Zone and what it means for you. If you are out of zone-don’t panic-your pre-enrolment has been secured on our school’s waiting list and will be confirmed in writing prior to your child’s transition and starting date at Lauriston School. If you have any concerns or queries please don’t hesitate to contact the school for further clarification.

If you haven’t yet enrolled please prioritise expressing your interest in enrolling either via the school website or by making contact with Trudy in the school office or Georgie Turpie our New Entrant teacher and Deputy principal.
Parents of students who live within the home zone should also apply by this date to assist the school to plan appropriately for next year.
Places for next year:
The board has determined that 25 places are likely to be available for out-of-zone students next year-16 September 2022-16 September 2023. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.
If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot (except in the case of special programmes, where the criteria in the enrolment scheme apply).
Any students not selected following the ballot process will be placed on our school’s waiting list for future enrollment.
If a ballot is required it will be held on 16 September 2022. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
