Trimester 2 Report Cards

We are so proud of our students' academic achievement this trimester. Thank you to all of our MES scholars for working hard to succeed, and a thank you to MES grownups for supporting our students through distance and hybrid learning. Please check your child's backpacks for report cards this week. MILES students will have their report cards mailed via USPS.

Attendance Hotline

Please call our attendance hotline to report your child’s absence @ 760-934-7162. If your child’s absence is not reported, it is considered unexcused.

MUSD Illness Protocols and Attendance

We are providing the following information to clarify our protocols for attendance during the Covid-19 pandemic. If your student is showing any of the following symptoms (see Symptom tree below) that could be Covid-19, they are to remain home. Please do not send your student to school if they have symptoms.

If your student has symptoms, they will need to follow our flowsheet guidance and follow up with Pediatrics or the Mono County Health Department to be tested for Covid-19. Please see the flowchart below, and these are also linked to our website here.. Students who test negative for Covid-19 will need to submit the test results to the school in order for your student to come back in 5 days from illness onset and no fever in the last 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications. Negative PCR results can be emailed to:

OptumServe Covid-19 Testing:Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays: 11:00 a.m. to 7:00pm., Mammoth Lakes Foundation (100 College Parkway). OPEN to the public, all ages, regardless of insurance. Appointments preferred but walk-ins welcome. Pre-Registration available here.

State Testing Updates

Summative ELPAC

The Summative ELPAC assessment will be administered to all TK-5 English Language Learners at Mammoth Elementary School. This test is administered to students to determine English language proficiency, and it is based on the California English Language Development Standards. Parents can find more information online at

Testing will continue through May, 2021.

MES Yearbook Info

If you would like to order a yearbook, please complete the form and send in payment with your child. If you are in MILES, you will need to go to the school office on Friday and pick up your order form. If you have any questions, please contact 5th grade teacher, Ms. Anderson Thank you.

Care Solace Mental Health Resource

Our district students, staff and their families can use Care Solace to quickly connect to verified mental health resources in our community. The Care Concierge team is available 24/7 and can support your preferred language. Click for more information

Lunch Program

Free school lunches are available from MUSD for ALL families regardless of income qualification. Pick up will happen for in seat students at the END of their cohort time. Please let your child's teacher know if your student will be picking up a meal daily.

For distance learning students, the pick up time is between 11:30-1:00 pm at Mammoth High School. Please note that there will no longer be pickup at the Crowley Lake Community Center.

Kindergarten & TK Enrollment for 2021-22 School Year

If your child is eligible for kindergarten or transitional kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year, enrollment packets will be available on Friday 4/2 from 7:00-11:00am and 1:00-5:00pm.
