October Update

Big picture

PTA Members,

September was a great start at Southeast and in October we have even more exciting things planned. There are many upcoming events listed below where we will need quite a bit of support through both donations and volunteers.

Thank you to everyone that has supported the PTA and school over the last month. Here is a list of just some of the great things we did...

1. 26 people attended the 1st PTA Meeting! (meeting minutes are available for download below)

2. The Amazon wishlist for SE special interest clubs was completely fulfilled ... in just a couple of days!!!

3. The art classroom has a full set of aprons to (hopefully) help keeps the kid's clothes cleaner.

4. The library is currently caught up on "decommissioning" of old books. They might have more work opportunities in the future.

5. We completed the spirit wear drive. A lot more Southeast-spirited kids will be roaming the halls soon!

Don't forget that the Park Hill Clothing Center is always open for donations (clothing size 3T and up) & always looking for volunteers. This service is run by the Park Hill School District PTA and is a huge support for our families They need help on sorting/organizing days AND shopping days

How can you get involved?

Attend a meeting! Childcare is provided (ages 2+)! This is the best way to know about decisions being made and let your voice be heard.

We have a lot of committee chairpersons that would love some support or a team of people to contact when planning events. If any of the committees listed below interest you, reach out to southeastelementarypta@gmail.com and you can be connected to a chairperson. If you expressed interest in a committee when signing up for PTA, your information will be shared.

There will be numerous needs for donated food and time requested throughout the year. Sign-ups will be sent out throughout the year with these requests. We provide many meals for the teachers and it is always a big hit!

Amazon Smile is an extremely easy way to donate to our PTA. Visit the website https://smile.amazon.com/ and designate Southeast Elementary PTA as your chosen charity. A percentage of your purchase will be donated back to the PTA. You must shop through the website listed above for contributions to be made. The app and amazon.com do not automatically generate income for us.

Save BOXTOPS! This is an easy way to support our school. The boxtop program will be changing soon. We will continue to run classroom boxtop drives during this transition. It is moving to an app-based program for scanning receipts instead of clipping from boxes. More information here: https://www.boxtops4education.com/
