A message from the Principal
Can you believe we are one quarter of the way through school!! The end of 1st quarter is November 4th. Watch for reports cards to come home with your child on Thursday, November 10th. In the few months I have been here, I have been so impressed with support provided by the parents of our community. Our PTO has been nothing short of wonderful. Our teachers were well fed for conferences and had a little extra collaboration time while the kids showed off their dance moves at the PTO sponsored Halloween dance. Thank you so much PTO!
Even though the month of November has started on above normal temperatures, we all know great changes in the weather are just around the corner! The after noon recess has been quite warm, but that morning recess tends to be quite chilly. Just a reminder to be sure the kids outdoor attire has them prepared for the change in weather. Just to warn you...next month I'll mention--dare I say it---snowpants!!! Good luck hunters! Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful to all of you for making this a great place be everyday!!

Tell a lie once and all of your truths become questionable.
The first step toward greatness is to be honest.
Respect is earned, Honesty is appreciated, Trust is gained, Loyalty is returned.

Wonderful work from Writers Workshop
Garfield students are continuing to improve their writing skills during our new Writer's Workshop instructional model. Each month we would like to showcase some student examples. Here is one from Mrs. Borth's 1st Grade class.

GARFIELD'S CLOSET
At this time we are running low on specifically pants and tops for boys and girls. Sweatpants or leggings work great as they can accommodate more sizes.
If you have any clean pants or tops, we would appreciate any donations you could help us with. Children's sizes ranging from a 5-14.
Please call Jen Cunningham, secretary, if you have any questions.
