Superintendent's message
Hello everyone,
In LESSONS FROM GEESE Dr. Robert McNeish shares lessons to be learned from geese, and they are particularly salient for educators! For instance, geese flying in a “V” formation can add 71% more to their flying range than if they flew separately. Why? Because the flapping of the wings of the birds in the formation creates uplift for the birds that follow.
Thank you for not only supporting our students but also your colleagues. When we work together and support each other we all win!
Thank you for all you do for LISD!

LHS Teachers Engage Students with Career Options
US Army Recruiters Sergeant Brandon Cardova and Private TJ Brooks visited Coach Chris Portwood's LHS dual credit Psychology class to give students a career choice and to inform students of the benefits of joining the army. The men told students about pay, insurance, and education during service. And LHS students in Mrs. Kayla Rodriguez's health class were reminded about their oral health when Gr8 Smiles came to visit. Students heard from guest speakers Perla Soto and Pamela Hernandez (an LHS Alumni) about the necessary steps to take after graduation to pursue a career in the Dental Field. They taught students about becoming a Dental Assistant, becoming a Dental Hygienist, and even a Dentist. And finally, students in Jordan Crilly's Floriculture Career Development Class made Valentine's arrangements for the upcoming holiday! These students are learning to identify plants, judge flower arrangements, and solve problems. Thanks to Coach Portwood, Coach Rodriguez, and Mrs. Crilly for engaging students with new career options.
