We'll take the district Common Quarterly Writing Assessment on Thurs. Students will be given the prompt Wed. so they can think about their topic before the assessment on Thurs.

The end of the qtr. is Dec. 18 so all student work needs to be turned in by then. Thank you for helping your child do their best to complete their work and finish strong.
I've included information about our biography book reports in today's newsletter. I've also sent all the materials home with your child so they should be able to work on this project as they're ready. These are due Dec. 10.

The PTO is sponsoring a Holiday Shopper T-Fri. a.m. for students. We'll visit the "store" on Wed. Students can also purchase items other days during their recess/lunch times.
Our Concert will be at the High School on Tues. at 6:30. Please make sure students are there by 6:00.
The fifth grade will be holding a bake sale the evening of our Christmas Concert, Dec. 9. If you can bring some delicious home baked goodies we'd appreciate it. Treats need to be wrapped individually so they are easy to carry/consume. We'll also need help setting up, selling and cleaning up afterwards. Please let me know what you can do to help. Thank you.
Student Council is opening the school store before school Dec. 16. They'll have pencils, erasers and other fun school supplies available.
Students will need to bring a box or two (and bubble wrap if you have some) so they can take their Christmas gifts for the family home safely. Boxes need to be approx. the size of a medium flat rate box.
The class voted to have a gift exchange on our last day together, Dec. 18th. The gift needs to be a generic gift that both boys and girls would like. Please keep these under $5 if possible. We talked about gifts 5th grade students like: candy, games, markers, etc. Students are encouraged to make something from home as well. We'll play a game to exchange gifts so they shouldn't be brought with a particular person in mind.
Christmas Concert
Parents,
The holiday season is fast approaching and we are gearing up for our WHE Christmas Concert. Your students have been working so hard to prepare some great entertainment for you again this year.
The 3rd and 4th grade groups have been working on a musical together sure to get you thinking about that “winter wonderland.” The 5th and 6th grade groups have also been working on a very lively and entertaining set of songs that will leave you in stiches. After we have finished presenting our collection of songs, we will invite you to sing along with us to some great traditional Christmas Carols.
3rd grade concert attire will be to be dressed as students. The 4th graders should dress up to look like teachers as much as possible. Please have them wear their nicest clothes.
Please ask your 5th and 6th grade students if they have a part that they are to dress up for or if they are in the choir only. 5th and 6th grade girls should wear as much white as possible unless they have another part in one of the other songs. Boys should dress in nice holiday clothes unless they have a part in another song to dress up for. If they are fisherman they need to bring all of their winter gear (hats, coat, gloves, scarf, snow pants ect). Postal workers need a light blue button up shirt (preferably short sleeves) and blue pants or jeans.
This is a night that is sure to get you in the mood for the holidays! We hope that you will join us.
Tuesday December 9th @ 6:30 pm @ HHS
(Students need to arrive around 6:00 pm)
Sincerely,
Mrs. Moore
In addition to the festive holiday concert the 5th grade will be hosting our first fundraiser so we'll need help baking yummy treats to sell before and after the concert; as well as workers who can help us set up, sell and take down. Please let me know what you can do. Thank you!
