Don't Count Down the Days! Make EACH Day Count!
Report Card Planning Sheet - How is it going?
- We Identified the process standard K.1(G) to assess. Our focus if for students to be able to explain their mathematical ideas using oral mathematical language.
- Identify what activity/lesson we will use to assess it: We are using addition stories to assess.
- As a team, we created some real-world problems to assess. How is it going?
- In small group, we will ask students to identify the coins and assess. If they get all 4 correct= E, 3 = S, 2 = N and 1= U.
- Is the Coin Assessment Tracker/Word Problems helpful? What have you noticed?
EDC , Number Talks, and Logic Talk Posters- Thank you America for digital pictures again!
- Number Talks-How are they going?
- Sentence Stems must be posted. I notice ____. They are alike/different because ______.
- Quality Questions: What do you notice about our Calendar Pieces? How are they alike? How are they different? What do you think tomorrow will be? Why? Depositor After sorting, what is the same about the counters in the group? What do you notice about our counting tape? What do you know about a square? How many clips have we collected? How many more clips do we need to make another group of 10? How do you know if this is more than 10? What happens to the total number of clips if I take down a full chain of 10 clips? How does your mind remember this Domino?
- 2D shape anchor charts should be completed.
- Logic Talk Posters:Begin in October. Make Holiday sets digital. What is the rotation? I have placed the extra sets on the left side of the kinder closet, all the way in the back, by the MIF stuff.
- NOVEMBER EDC: Good activities listed to try on pg 15 (Stack Match, Collect and Count, Instant Recognition, Memory game with the Make a Match game, Same as my Foot activity)

How can you prove that you have a match? Close your eyes. Can you see the domino for ___? How are the purple shapes alike? Different? What make the red shapes different from the purple shapes?
- Sentence Stems: I know ____.
- DECEMBER EDC: When counting tens and ones, clap when the counting pattern changes. Add a balance scale station. Should we add a new graph? Or collect cans?
- Quality Questions: I have more than 3 counters. How many could I have? What do you think the pattern might be for this month? Why is this shape not a square? Have we colored more or fewer than ____ squares? Is the number that comes just after always one more? Can you tell a story about what the domino shows? Who has a "one more" story? How are the red triangles alike/different?
- Sentence Stems: This shape is not a ______ because _________.
- JANUARY EDC: How is the graph going that America created? Thanks again America!
- Quality Questions: What number is greater, 50 or 63? How do you know? Can you show me? Can you find any can shapes or cylinders in our room? Why does this shape roll? How many squares have we put up after day 50?
- Please post the questions next to your calendar that I have created on SENteacher.org

K.2I compose and decompose numbers up to 10 with objects and pictures-share ideas
- This is the TEK we consistently perform lower on. What stations, games, activities, smartboard ideas can we implement to continually reinforce this TEK?
- Are the students able to play the games below
- We will continue to add stations for our math rotations that focus on this TEK. Below are some online games.
- Add it Up Domino activity, Making Tens Dice Roll Game
SPLat number Talks!
Maze Hundred charts!
Math DCA is now April 30th and May 1st. You will be given time to bubble.
The test will be given in small groups.
Share the blueprint and review the test again from last year.
You do not need to cover anything.
Units 12: Addition Stories and 13: Subtraction Stories will be tested together on May 11th. Distribute testing materials.
- Classifying and Sorting is the last unit.
- Kindergartners will continue to solve the 4 different problem types by acting out the situation with objects/fingers/and drawings.
- Add to Result Unknown, Take From Result Unknown, Put Together/Take Apart Total Unknown, and Put Together/Take Apart Addend Unknown.
- Provide every day life, real-world problems.
- After the teacher reads the problem, the students chooses their own method to model a problem and find a solution.
- Students discuss their solution strategies while the teacher represents the situation with an equation written under the problem.
Unit 14: Classifying and Sorting- how can we use the Glow in the Dark Geo Sticks? (Bedtime Stories)
- Classify objects using one attribute (color, size, shape, special features). Attribute blocks work well for this concept.
- Id. objects that do not belong to a set.
- Classify objects according to 2-3 attributes.
- Sort objects by one or two attributes.
DMAC
- TEKScore Dashboard
- Campus and District boards are based on passing standards set for each test.
- Teacher Dashboards are based on the percentage of TEKS/questions answered correctly.
- Teacher Dashboards allow you to see scored tests and TEKS performance.
EOY: K.2I compose and decompose numbers up to 10 with objects and pictures
- We will spend time during the last week of school on this very important TEK! :)
