Jottings from October
FAST Testing
In recent weeks we completed our first round of testing in the areas of reading and math. We have moved to FAST testing as opposed to the previously used NWEA testing. We found these tests to take less time than NWEA. We were able to test in our classrooms on the iPads. The tests were shorter in length, so the students didn't appear as bogged down as they seemed to get after testing in the computer lab. These tests will give us a quick check of growth and can be given throughout the school year. I will share their results at conferences in November.
Fall Party
Thank you to all the parents that contributed treats for our fall party before MEA Break. We had a busy week with the author visit and various other activities. We enjoyed some time playing board games and snacking.
Kathryn Otoshi visited Wagner on October 14, 2014.
Kathryn Otoshi involving the students in an interactive lesson.
The students were very responsive to her lesson and the topic at hand.
