Monday 26/9/2016 - Friday 30/9/2016

We have had another fantastic week of learning here at Balladen CP School.

Our week began with a thought provoking assembly from Reverend Chris Casey from St. Marys Church. He spoke to us all about trust. He told the story of Joshua and the walls of Jericho and some of our children even had the opportunity to play paper trumpets! We really enjoyed listening to him and thinking about how important trust is throughout our lives and school.

On Tuesday our Street Dance club continued and we are all looking forward to seeing the results in one of our assemblies very soon. We also had a fire drill. We were really pleased that the whole school moved quickly and quietly to their designated areas. Well done everyone!

On Wednesday some of our children took part in the mixed tennis competition at Fearns. The children did really well and loved the experience of entering the competition. One of our teams came third but the other team came first! We are all very proud of the children who took part and a big thank you to Miss Hall for all of her hard work in supporting the development of sport at our school.

On Thursday our Year Six children had the opportunity to spend the day at Alder Grange. They had a wonderful time and came back to school with many stories to tell. Our 'B' team played their first game of the season against Haslingden Primary School. They tried incredibly hard and there were some great performances throughout the team. A big thank you must go to Mr Stanton for all of his efforts and hard work with both the boys and the girls playing football.

On Friday Year 2 had the chance to go river walking with Mr. Grime. The playground was full of excited talk and bouncing children raring to go. Please have a look at our twitter page to see some pictures of the visit. We also held our celebration assembly on Friday morning. The confidence in many of our children in speaking aloud to the school is growing. Well done! Thank you to all of the Mums, Dads and family members who joined us this morning. Please od have a look at the pictures from the assembly further down the page.

Another week of learning and fun has gone very, very well. Thank you and well done to our incredible school community for making Balladen CP School an enjoyable and purposeful place of learning each and every day.

Have a wonderful weekend. I look forward to seeing all of those Monday smiles!

With respect,

Mr Neil Ringrose

Thank you and well done!
