FAFSA Changes
The FAFSA Simplification Act represents a significant overhaul of the processes and systems used to award federal student aid starting with the 2024–25 award year. This includes the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, need analysis, and many policies and procedures for schools that participate in federal student aid programs.
The law will also affect every state that uses FAFSA data to award state grant aid and every school that participates in the federal student aid programs.

SIGMA GAMMA RHO SORORITY, INC. LAMBDA SIGMA SIGMA ALUMNAE CHAPTER
Lambda Sigma Sigma Alumnae Chapter announces the 2024 Scholarship Awards Program. Under the Program, one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior attending a high school served by the Lambda Sigma Sigma Chapter.

Program Guidelines & Priorities:
Seeking graduating seniors with an interest in community development and volunteerism. This will be demonstrated through your resume or in your essay.
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Scholarship funds will be paid by September 2024 during the winning student’s first year directly to the college of enrollment and not to the student.
It will be the student’s responsibility to submit to LSS, at that time an invoice for second semester tuition and fees, student ID number, and college information. Students will need to submit their name, student ID, and college information as soon as a decision has been made.

Snapping Shoals EMC Scholarships
Bradley K. Thomas Scholarship
These scholarships are aimed at recognizing those students who go above and beyond in their extracurricular activities and are named in honor of our former CEO, Bradley K. Thomas, who stressed the importance of community involvement. Involvement in school and community activities is the primary consideration for these scholarships. Academic ability and financial need are also factors in the selection of the scholarship recipients. We typically award eight $2,500 Bradley K. Thomas scholarships each year.

Lineman Scholarship
SSEMC offers two $3,500 scholarships for those interested in attending lineman school. The funds may be used for any Lineman School program in Georgia and the student must initiate their school registration within one year of award and must complete schooling within two years of award. Application is below.
J.E. Robinson Memorial Scholarships
The Snapping Shoals EMC Scholarships were created in 1993 to recognize the achievements of outstanding high school students throughout our area. In 2004, we renamed them the Snapping Shoals EMC J.E. Robinson Memorial Scholarships in memory of our former manager, president and CEO J.E. "Ed" Robinson, who was at the helm of Snapping Shoals from 1953 to 1995.
Academic ability, financial need and other factors, such as school and community activities, are considered in the selection of the scholarship recipients. The Snapping Shoals EMC J.E. Robinson Memorial Scholarships are currently worth $2,500 each, and we typically award a total of 14 each spring.
Any high school senior whose primary residence is served by Snapping Shoals EMC, or whose high school is served by SSEMC, may apply.

Delta Community Credit Union HBCU Scholarship
How to Enter
Visit V-103's website to submit a 250-word nomination for a deserving student that attends, or plans to attend, one of the nation's HBCUs telling us why the student deserves or needs this scholarship. You may also nominate yourself!
Submissions must be received by 12:00 p.m. ET on April 30, 2024.
Twice a year, scholarships for $5,000 will be awarded to HBCU students. Three scholarships will be awarded in May 2024, and two scholarships will be awarded in November 2024.
Who's Eligible
- Current undergraduate students at any of the nation's HBCUs
- Graduating high school seniors who have received an official acceptance letter to an HBCU
- Students must be Georgia residents
American Pest Control's 2024 Gene Higginbotham Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must have been accepted to an accredited college or university.
2. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 high school cumulative grade point average (equivalent to a B average) and a 900 combined SAT score and/or ACT score of 17.
3. An application for the scholarship must be completed along with a letter of recommendation from a teacher, school administrator, coach, mentor, or community leader.
4. Applicant must reside in an American Pest Control service location. Service areas can be found at www.ampest.com.

2024 Fueling the Future Scholarship - GIRLS in STEM
The Women's Energy Network (WEN) of Greater Atlanta is excited to announce the 2024 Fueling the Future scholarship, a one-time award to exemplary high school women from the Greater Atlanta area.
WEN is committed to introducing high school students to careers in energy and to help fuel the industry’s need for the next generation of leaders. The Fueling the Future award is a one-time $2,500 scholarship to young women seeking degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and ultimately joining the energy industry.
Application Dates: The 2024 scholarship application submission period closes on April 12, 2024.

Harriett’s Daughters, Inc. is honored to grant ScholarGifts to young women in their senior year of high school, who have lost their mother to cancer or whose mother has an end-stage cancer diagnosis and aspire to pursue higher education in the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year.

Do you consider yourself a tall person? Well here is a scholarship for you!
Open to first-year college students (entering in 2024) who meet the minimum height requirements for membership in Tall Clubs International—5′ 10″ (178 cm) for women and 6′ 2″ (188 cm) for men.

American Legion Auxiliary Scholarships
Open to descendants of veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during specific eligibility dates.

Engebretson Foundation Scholarship
Award Amount: $10,000
Open to graduating seniors from high schools in the U.S. There are other very specific eligibility requirements, so read them carefully before adding this scholarship to your list.

National Catholic Committee on Scouting
Open to high school seniors (men and women) who are practicing Catholics and actively involved with a Scout Troop, Venturing Crew, or Sea Scout Ship. Students must have earned the Eagle Scout, Summit Award, or Quartermaster Award, and the Ad Altare Dei, Pope Pius XII, or Light is Life (Eastern Rite) Religious Emblem.

Blacks At Microsoft Scholarship
- Be a high school senior of African descent (for example, African American, African, Ethiopian, etc.).
- Plan to attend a four-year college or university in the US in the fall immediately following your high school graduation.
- Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or one of the following Business programs – Business Administration, Finance, or Marketing at an accredited four-year college, university, in the United States, for the entire upcoming academic year.

Applicants to the Women at Microsoft scholarship must:
- Be a graduating high school senior
- Self-identify as a woman*
- Plan to enroll in full-time in a tech, engineering, math, or computer science related undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school, in the United States, for the entire upcoming academic year.**
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.
Employees and children of employees of Microsoft are ineligible.

Shell Oil Scholarship
Scholarships for students pursing college degrees in certain engineering or geosciences disciplines.
In each program, Shell will sponsor up to 20 one-year awards of $2,500 for selected graduating high school seniors enrolling in engineering or geosciences at universities identified by Shell.
Beyond the Boroughs
Beyond the Boroughs awards scholarships up to $20,000 over four years to full-time students who have been accepted to an accredited four-year college, university or equivalent (culinary school, for example). To date, Beyond the Boroughs has awarded over $300,000 in scholarship dollars.
Applicants can be current high school seniors entering college in the fall or students currently attending a college or university.
Requirements:
- Acceptance to an accredited four-year college, university, or equivalent
- Low income household
- G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher
- Involvement in an extra-curricular activity or work

The 2024 Side Hustlin’ Student Scholarship Opportunity
Applicants must submit a 1,000+ word essay about how you are earning extra income on the side of going to school. Topics can include anything from how you started a business, to why you decided to get a job, to how your parents encouraged you to work.
The best applicants will share a story about their life/dream/goals and how they endeavored to achieve it financially through work/side hustle/business venture.
Here are a few guidelines to follow:
- Essay must be your own work not previously published on any other website or publication.
- Applicants must either be enrolled or actively applying for enrollment to an undergraduate or graduate program. Students at technical, community, and four-year colleges are welcome to apply.
- All entries must be received by March 31, 2024.
- Applicants must state the school they are or plan to attend
- Applications should be submitted to support@thecollegeinvestor.com. Please include a name, address, phone number, and headshot to be included with article publication. Don't use a school email address - use your personal email so that we can contact you during the summer.
- Please include "Scholarship" in the subject line of the email.
- The entry should be in a Word document (not Google drive or PDF), appropriately formatted (e.g. subheadings), with use of good spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Note: this is the biggest disqualifying reason we've seen in past years.
Essays will be screened, and the top essays will be published on The College Investor. The scholarship winner and runner up will be selected on July 31, 2024.

Nonrenewable scholarships of $1,000.00 are awarded based on merit, financial need, and available funding to graduating high school seniors enrolled in Newton and Rockdale Counties High Schools.
Write a 250-word essay describing how upon graduation from college you plan to contribute to your community. Your essay should be typed, double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5" x 11") with 1" margins on all sides. You should use a clear font that is highly readable. We recommend using 12 pt. Times New Roman font.
Submit two letters of recommendation in separate and sealed envelopes from someone who can provide insight into the applicants’ work as a student and as to the personal character, potential, and motivation. The first letter must be from a teacher or counsel at the applicant’s school and should refer to the applicant’s ability to successfully complete a college program of study. The second letter should be a personal recommendation from a volunteer, employer, employee, or a clergy.
Submit an official transcript of your grades in a sealed envelope. The transcript must show all test results taken i.e. SAT and/or ACT scores. If you do not have SAT/ACT scores, you will not be penalized.
Submit a copy of the applicant’s acceptance letter for admission to an accredited college or university.

This memorial scholarship, inspired by Marilyn Barton's dedication to the youth and scholarship, aims to support outstanding high school seniors in Newton or Rockdale County on their academic journey.
Newton / Rockdale Counties Scholarship: Nonrenewable scholarships of $1,000.00 are awarded based on merit, financial need, and available funding to graduating high school seniors enrolled in Newton and Rockdale Counties High Schools.
Academic Excellence: Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Field of Study: Plan to major in Accounting, Business/Finance, or Education at an accredited institution.
Community Involvement: Demonstrate a history of dedication to activities related to mentoring, or community involvement that aligns with the values of fostering growth and education.
Leadership Skills: Showcase leadership qualities through school or community involvement, emphasizing initiatives related to the youth.
Essay Submission: Submit a well-crafted essay discussing career goals, how the chosen field aligns with personal aspirations, and detailing past experiences contributing to the development of youth.
Letters of Recommendation: Provide two letters of recommendation highlighting academic and personal qualities.
Financial Need: While not a strict requirement, financial need may be considered as part of the application.
Scheduled Interview: Commit to attending a scheduled interview with the scholarship committee.

The Hagan Scholarship
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. Applicants must graduate from a high school located in the United States. Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2022 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Recipients graduating college while in the Hagan Scholarship Program can apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship good for up to four additional consecutive semesters.

USDA/1890 National Scholars Program scholarship,
The USDA 1890 National Scholars Program is open to high school seniors entering their freshman year of college, and rising college sophomores and juniors.
The applications for the 2024 school year will be accepted from December 15, 2023 through March 1, 2024. Click to view instructions for creating a user account (PDF, 876 KB) and submit your application.
1890 National Scholars Program, which is aimed at increasing the number of students from rural and underserved communities who study food, agriculture, natural resource and other related sciences. The scholarship provides recipients with full tuition, fees, books, room and board. Scholars attend one of the 1890 land-grant universities and pursue degrees in agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or related academic disciplines. The scholarship may also include work experience at USDA. The program is a crucial part of USDA’s Next Generation efforts.
