Congratulations, seniors!

The school counselors would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the senior class on this milestone achievement. Despite much adversity, you have risen to the challenge, and we are so proud of your hard work and determination. It has been a pleasure working with you, and we wish you all the best as you begin a new chapter in your lives.

Important Dates

The following are important dates for graduating seniors:


May 18th @ 10: Mandatory Senior Meeting and Senior Group Picture

May 20th :Clarion Day and Senior Picnic Day

May 22 @ 6:30: Baccalaureate Service at First Presbyterian Church in Belmont (Report to fellowship hall by 6:15)

June 3rd @ 8:30 : Breakfast and Graduation practice

June 4th @ 9:00: Graduation Day! (Be at school by 7:44)

Baccalaureate Information

South Point's Parent Teacher Organization cordially invites the Senior class of 2022 and their families to a Baccalaureate service on Sunday, May 22 at 6:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Belmont. Please see the attached invitation for more information.

Honors Tassels and Stoles

Seniors graduating with the following honors distinctions are eligible to purchase an honors tassel to wear during graduation:


Cum Laude: 3.7-3.99 GPA White Tassel

Magna Cum Laude: 4.0-4.29 Red Tassel

Suma Cum Laude: 4.3 and above Gold Tassel


Tassels are $10 each and may be purchased after graduation practice.


Stoles are available ON LOAN to all honors graduates, and will be distributed along with honors tassels after graduation practice. Students must return stoles before leaving the graduation ceremony.

What are your plans for Fall 2022?

Please take a few moments to complete the Bound For Survey at the link below to indicate your plans for Fall 2021. This information is reported to Gaston County and the state of North Carolina and is required by EVERY senior.

Scholarship Reporting

Please report any scholarships or grants that you have been OFFERED this year at the link below, even if you have chosen not to accept them. These grants and scholarships may be merit-based, financial need-based, athletic, military, etc.

Final Transcripts

If you will be attending college in the fall and need to have a final transcript sent, please refer to the attachment below.


***Seniors who have taken College Now/CCP courses will also need to provide a final copy of their Gaston College transcript.

Student Emails

Upon graduation, Gaston County Schools email addresses will be terminated. Seniors who wish to save any information from their email accounts should take precautions to back it up.
