PreK and Kindergarten Choice of School
For students entering prekindergarten or kindergarten in the fall, the choice period is from March 21, 2022- May 4, 2022. For more information, please visit our Choice of School website.

See the enrollment page if your child will be at least 5 years old on or before Sept. 1st, 2022 to enroll in kindergarten. Call your neighborhood GISD school or call Student Services, 972-494-8255, for help with enrollment.
Join the Tutor Team
Our district is working hard to help our students recover from the effects of COVID-19. As part of our plan to boost student achievement, we are creating the GISD Tutor Team, where those with a passion for student success can help students recover and rise to new heights in learning.
We offer:
- Assignments that align to your skill set
- Training and instructional materials tailored to the student
- $30 an hour pay
- Consistent scheduling (based on the needs of the campus and students)
- No TRS penalty for retired teachers

Family Workshops and Resources
Virtual Parent University
We are continuing our Facebook Live Parent University series.
Join us for our next Parent University on Tuesday April 26th at 6:00 to learn about Team GISD parent resources and the second annual Family Engagement Conference. Guests from various departments will share information about programs and resources available for families.
Videos with Spanish and Vietnamese captions of the FB Parent University will be posted after the event.

Required Immunizations for 11 Year-Olds
Do you want to avoid long lines and extra doctor fees? Do you want your 11 year-old student to start school on time in the fall? Get your 11-year-old's REQUIRED IMMUNIZATIONS at a GISD Clinic! The Garland ISD Enrollment Center Clinic and Garland Health Department are partnering to offer TWO CONVENIENT LOCATIONS where your student can receive required vaccinations before the start of school.

Free Student Health Services Available
All Garland ISD students now have access to same-day doctor visits from school or from home through our partner Hazel Health. Sign up for this free virtual service today!
Student Nutrition Services
This school year, healthy meals will be offered every school day to all students at no cost. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year. Each school/site or central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed upon request. For school menus and more detailed information please visit the School Meals website.
