Book Week roundup...
The weather held out for our parade, and all the students and teachers looked amazing in character costumes!
Although it was a mini-book week this year, we still managed to pack in author visits, a BIG book swap, teachers reading at lunchtime, the book week reading quiz, as well as the parade. Photos and slideshow below.
Next year, book week will be back...bigger than ever!
MARK YOUR DIARIES...
Book week next year will be held in OCTOBER, from Monday, October 24 - Friday, October 28. Details in next month's newsletter.
March and April - 'Books For Birthdays' students...
If your child is having a birthday, they can choose a brand new book for $100 and be the first to read it. They then return it and donate it to the library as a legacy in memory of their birthday.
We have a box of books waiting now in the library for your child to choose from!
Glenealy School Inter-house Chess Tournament
Competition was tough and the level was high! All our students showed excellent sportsmanship and were determined to do their best.
Mrs Mathyssek and Mrs Oliver will present all Glenealy students who entered with a participation certificate and first to fourth place winners with medals at a special assembly on Friday, May 27 at 2:15.
Some photos below.
Scholastic Book Catalogues
If your child would like to order any of the books, please return the order form by Friday at the latest together with a cheque (no cash please) to the Library.
Borrowing from the Library
Students can borrow every day, they do not need to wait until their assigned library day.
The library is also open to students at lunchtime from 1:05-1:30, where students can change library books, play chess, read or just hang out with friends.
