New School Mascot, Logo, and Colors!
Some of you may not know this, but since Fox Hill opened it's doors, the official mascot has been Pioneers! Yes, we often used a fox in our logo or in advertisement, but that was not the official mascot. I am happy to say- we have officially changed our mascot and we are now the Fox Hill Foxes! The new mascot graphic was designed to capture the essence of a real fox and our colors are red and gray.
5th Grade Ceremony - May 24th
5th Grade Families:
You are invited to the 5th Grade Capstone Presentation and Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, May 24th.
Capstone Presentations - 12:00- 12:40 in the School Gym:
Capstone is an end of elementary career presentation that allows students to showcase their achievements as globally-minded citizens. Students explore and choose a topic of interest, engage in an individual or collaborative investigation, make connections to local or global issues, draw conclusions from the investigation in the form of a claim with evidence, take action towards at least one of the issues, and then share their process and outcomes with the school community. You are invited to learn about their projects during the Capstone Presentations.
5th Grade Recognition Ceremony - 1pm in the School Cafeteria/Gym:
The Recognition Ceremony will take place in our cafeteria/gym. Our program will begin at 1pm. Between 12:40 and 1:00, we will need to transform the gym from Capstone Presentations to seating for the Recognition Ceremony - so please allow for patience as we do that. For seating and space purposes, we are planning for 2 family members per student.
After the ceremony, if you would like to take your student home with you, you will be able to do so by signing out with the teacher.
We are so proud of our 5th graders! We hope to make this recognition very special for them!

Middle School Summer Math
In previous years, students newly enrolled in Honors Math were required to complete online courses in preparation for the upcoming year. This year, the summer Math offerings will be optional and extend to all students.
Any student who would like to participate in an accelerated summer math course can self-enroll. Since this is an optional course, a WT teacher will not be assigned to monitor the fulfillment of course requirements.
Please enroll by using the following link: https://auth.edmentum.com/elf/login. You will select the gray self-enrollment button and use the credentials below. The course will remain open until July 28th.

Child Nutrition Reminders
Cafe Meal Account
As we near the end of the school year, it is time to pay any charges that have occurred on your child’s cafe meal account. All negative balances not paid by May 31 are subject to collections. Please contact your school cafeteria manager if you have any questions about your child’s current balance.
Meal Payment Procedure
Online payments are a simple, safe, and secure way to make payments to your child’s cafe meal account 24 hours a day at your convenience. Visit www.mypaymentsplus.com to pay online. You can also make payments with cash or by check. Payment can be brought into school personally, or you can send it with your child. If paying by cash or check, please place the payment in an envelope marked clearly with your child’s name, student ID number, dollar amount, and the check number. Elementary students can turn the envelope into their cafeteria or classroom teacher. Middle School and High School students can place the completed envelope in the Meal Payment Drop Boxes located in each school.
Refund or Fund Transfer Request for Graduating Seniors
Graduating seniors or students leaving the district who have a balance on their school meal account may request a refund, transfer money to a sibling, or donate to the Lunch Donation Fund by completing the Refund Request Form. Once the form is received and processed by the Child Nutrition Office, a check will be mailed to the name and address provided on the form. Refunds may take up to four weeks to process.
IMPORTANT: Please log in to www.mypaymentsplus.com and DISABLE any automatic repayment feature you may have set up on the account. Your credit card WILL be charged if automatic repayment is NOT disabled.
School Calendar
2023-2024 School Calendar Amendment - 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 School Calendars Now Posted The WTS School Board recently approved an amendment to next year’s school calendar that is accessible here. In the calendar, you will note the removal of an eLearning Day originally set for April 17.
April 17 will now be a traditional, in-person school day per the approved amendment.
From Transportation - Kindergarten Bus Reminder
We are down to the last week of school, and it remains critical that a parent/guardian meet every kindergartener at their bus stop in the afternoon. If there is no one to meet the student, they are returned to their home school after the entire route has been run. This is done to ensure the safety of our youngest learners, but it also causes our high school and middle school routes to be delayed. Please partner with us by ensuring an adult is at the bus step every afternoon to accept your kindergartener when they exit the school bus.

General Reminders
Attendance and Dismissal Information
- Should your student be absent for any reason, please call the attendance line at 317-259-5230 to report the absence. If a child’s absence is not called into the attendance line by 10:00 a.m., the child will be marked unexcused.
- If your student has a required appt during the school day, remember he or she can/should still attend school before and after the appointment. We would rather have a student come in tardy than miss a full day's instruction. Please provide a signed statement from the doctor, dentist, etc., upon the return to school in order for the office to code the missed time appropriately.
- Please notify your classroom teacher of dismissal changes in writing, or call the front office before 1:30 pm with transportation changes.
- The front office does not dismiss car riders from the office area during school dismissal time, 2pm-2:35 pm. Please notify the front office of any last minute changes by 1:30pm and report to the car line if your child will be a car rider. (*We do understand that there may be unforeseen circumstances, emergencies, or appts that may result in a deviation from this process.)
- Early pick ups from school - before 2:15pm- are coded in our FH Skyward system as afternoon tardies.
- **The State of Indiana requires that we send letters of notification to the families of children with excessive tardies (6 or more) and/or absences (4 or more unexcused). These letters will be sent on a regular basis.
Car Rider Information
If your student is a car rider:
*The Car Rider line starts at 7:30 am and will close by 7:50 am.
- Parents/Guardians dropping off after the car rider line has closed, must park in the front parking lot and an adult must walk his/her student across the crosswalk to the entrance of FH. If it is after 7:50 am, please plan to have your student enter the front doors for a tardy pass.
Cars should not enter the bus area during arrival and dismissal times!
Please DO NOT drive in or through the bus area during bus arrival and dismissal! Remember you are also in a school zone - an area with children. Please do not speed through any area on school grounds.
Car Rider Line:
Arrival 7:30-close by 7:50am: Parents should follow the “U” shaped line up formation on the west side of the school building. Students will stay in the car and should have items ready to go (backpack, lunch bag, etc.). Students should WAIT for the FH staff member to release them from their car. When the adult signals, student(s) should exit their car and walk on the yellow line into the entry door and go directly to class.
Dismissal-. Car Rider Dismissal will begin at 2:25 p.m. (Bus riders dismiss at 2:35pm.) Parents will line up in the same "U" shaped formation as the AM process. Watch for staff direction - If there are numerous cars, we will line up 2 lanes of cars and merge the cars into one lane as you approach the school curb. FH staff members will call for students based on your car tag - Please make sure to have ID in case it needs to be checked. Each student will have a number that corresponds to the car tag number of the parent. Parents are expected to get out of car, if needed, and help their students get into the car. *If you have a car tag from last year, you can discard it.
