PAW PRINTS
Hubenak Elementary, April 20, 2024
Happy Saturday, Husky Family! What an incredible week we've had celebrating the beautiful diversity at our Multicultural Night. As we look ahead, the upcoming week promises to be even busier with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Math STAAR on the horizon. Let's take a moment this weekend to breathe, relax, and recharge our batteries. Together, we can accomplish anything! Wishing you all a peaceful and rejuvenating weekend.
This weekly newsletter's purpose is to keep you informed and up-to-date about the campus happenings. The newsletter will be emailed to all staff members and posted on our staff Facebook page by Sunday for the following week. The structure of the newsletter will remain consistent. If I have new information to share, it will go in the "New Husky News" section. The newsletter will also contain a reminder of action required/deadlines, upcoming events, and staff shout outs. This is important communication and should be read weekly prior to reporting to campus each Monday.
If you have something you want to add to the newsletter, please send it to to me for review. I especially love help with knowing who to celebrate in our "Shout Outs" section, so please send me names of deserving staff members who have gone above and beyond for our school community.

They are the dream team of office teams, and we are so lucky to have them at Hubenak! Please be sure to stop by this week to let them know how much we appreciate them!
Absences - Home Stretch
Now that we're in the home stretch of the school year, I can't stress enough the importance of making every effort to be at school daily. I know things come up, and many things that arise are out of our control. However, I do ask that anything we can control (appointments that CAN wait), we wait to schedule once school has let out. Even with the best of substitutes, there is no substitute to what you bring to your students.
As we begin to wrap up the school year, we will have many events, end-of-year testing, and motivation/incentive plans occurring. When we have staff out and limited subs on these days, covering classes becomes a concern when support staff is scheduled in other places.
Also, if you have to be out, please continue notifying admin. Thank you!

Staffing Update 24-25
This will be a reoccurring section in PAW Prints for the remainder of the year. This will be a place that we communicate staffing updates for the 24-25 school year.
Until you see it in PAW Prints or hear it from the source directly, all plans for next year decisions are tentative. We've had MANY conversations with staff members, and we discuss different options and scenarios. Nothing has been finalized - but after spring break, it will be fast and furious with decisions and hiring!
With that being said, all staffing decisions are based on the needs of the campus, specific skillset, and what’s best for our Huskies.
The LCISD transfer window for employees to transfer to another LCISD campus opens on March 25th.
