More Updates & Information
I know that this is going out a little later than my normal 8:00 sending time. I am still working on making adjustments and changes as families are reaching out. Thank you to everyone who emailed me with corrections or changes in placement to online yesterday. The lists have now been updated and you may view them by going to yesterday's newsletter and click the links. If you didn't get a chance to read this yesterday and respond- please do so. I need any changes to program placement and the dismissal survey by today at 8:00 pm. These two things are key for us to finalize our class lists which go out tomorrow at noon for in person and online. The dismissal survey is essential for us to finalize as we are doing a dismissal "dress rehearsal" tomorrow at 3:00. Dismissal is different this year and we need to practice. If you're going to be a car rider and want to practice driving through- please make your car rider sign and line up at 3:00 and we will practice. You will stay in your cars and the children will not get out.
I'm going to break this newsletter into 3 parts. Information that applies to all at the top, then information for in person learning, then information for online learning.
I know that there is a lot happening and we are getting very near to the start. I want to reassure you that we are prepared, we are excited, and your children will have a great quarter no matter which program you've selected. My OCD has never come in handier, LOL! Some details are still getting finalized and we are problem solving as a team to iron out any issues. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we continue to work toward a smooth reopening.
As always, we are here to help and support your family. Please reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas you have.

Curbside Pick Up
This past Friday, October 9th was our last curbside pick up for a couple weeks as we transition into in-person learning for some. We will begin curbside pick up again on Friday, October 30th for families who opt to continue virtual learning. Students who are at Robinson for in-person learning will be able to check out books while at school. Please email email@example.com with any questions.
Kelly Yang Author Visit for 4th and 5th Grade
Author Kelly Yang will be presenting virtually to all Kirkwood 4th and 5th graders in late October. She is the author of one of the Mark Twain Nominee books, Front Desk, and many students are familiar with (and LOVE) the book! She will be speaking on her new book, Three Keys. See the flyer below for more information. Links for ordering her books can be found below as well.

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year and our last day of in-person instruction prior to this holiday is Thursday, October 29. Because there are so many logistical safety issues related to our typical class parties: changing into costumes, school-wide parade, playing games, and food/drink, all KSD elementary schools have made a decision to observe Halloween celebrations in the virtual world on Friday. Your child’s teacher will send more details as the date draws near. But at the very least, students will be welcome to dress up and there will be a stoppage in instruction for a bit of fun. Our online and in person teachers will take pictures of the kids via screenshots and upload those into their google folder so that we have pictures for our yearbook.

Additional Dismissal Information & Making Changes to Dismissal
If you need to change dismissal for your child(ren), please notify the classroom teacher and the office (Both Sue.firstname.lastname@example.org & Lynn.email@example.com) BEFORE 2:00pm. We suggest sending an email to notify the teacher & office about changes. If you DO NOT receive a response that the email has been received, then please follow up with a phone call to the office. It is important to notify more than just the classroom teacher in case the classroom teacher is absent.
If you are participating in a car pool for car pick up dismissal, please plan to pick up during the designated time for the alphabet letter that is closest to the front of the alphabet. For example, if you are picking up Sam Wilson, Jenny Smith and Ben Adams, Please come during the A-E designated pick up time.

Online Learning Program Informaion
Online Learning Updates
I want to share updates to the online learning program now.
Updated Online Schedule below. Highlights/Changes to the new online schedule are:
- Every child still has the Social Emotional Block
- Every child will still have the Interventions/Extension Block
- Our interventionists and REACH teacher will be providing services to our Robinson Online Students
- Students will now have Reading, Phonics, Math, Science/Social Studies blocks everyday- this is a shift from our current virtual schedule which did not allow for each of these content areas to have instructional blocks of time each day
- Specials will be asynchronous at the end of the day (our specials teachers will be making the videos)
We are very fortunate that in grades K, 2, 3, 4, 5 and for interventions, REACH, and specials, our Robinson students will be able to be together and be with a Robinson teacher. Thank you to our Robinson staff who will be working online. We are fortunate to have this connection for our students and families.
