Important Parent Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders!
Cardinal Elementary Parents and Guardians,
We need your help to ensure that all students get to and from school safely! It is important that everyone follow the parking lot procedures. Please review the policy below.
Beginning Monday, October 11th, 4th and 5th Graders will enter and exit through Door 2 on the west end of the building. We will continue to use the front circle lot, and are hopeful this will encourage cars to pull all the way forward preventing back ups on Marquette. The front doors will be locked and students will be directed to enter at Door 2. As always, we only allow pick up and drop off in the right lane and encourage students to enter/exit the vehicle on the passenger side.
2nd and 3rd graders should continue to be dropped off in the west lot and enter through the doors to their hallways (Door 4 for 3rd graders and Door 5 for 2nd graders).
Families who wish to park and walk children to the building are asked to use the west lot and cross at the crossing guard. There is no crossing in the front lot for safety reasons. There are many families who continue to park in the front lot and cross. Our children learn the importance of following rules and directions when we, as the adults, model this behavior for them. Out of respect and for the safety of all, please use the west lot if you wish to park, use safe speeds in the parking lot, use appropriate language, and refrain from smoking on school property.
We have recently had issues with people cutting into the front of the line. Please enter the line in the right lane and wait your turn.
Students MAY NOT be dropped off in the left lane under any circumstance.
Students who are tardy will need to be signed in by a parent or guardian at the window near the front entrance after 8:20 (9:35 on late starts).
Together, we can ensure that our Cardinal kids get to school safely each day and minimize frustration for families.
Sincerely,
The Cardinal Elementary Staff
