From Ms. Wood
Hello Sutherland Families,
We want to extend a huge thank you to our PTO for finding a way to provide our teachers with electronic gift cards this week for teacher appreciation. Our teachers were very grateful for the love. If you haven’t had a chance to email our teachers your appreciation, I am sure that they would love to hear from you or your student. Next week, we are going to be reaching out to families whose students have been having difficulty completing assignments through email. You may check their progress through Parent Portal and clicking on the 4th quarter icon for each class to monitor your student’s progress. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the teacher directly, school counselor, Mr. Stow, or myself. Just as a reminder, students who do not complete the work at this time will receive an incomplete for the year. Students will then be provided opportunities to make up this work at a later date.
Sincerely,
Megan Wood
Links for help During Closure:
- Looking for some ideas for your child to pass the time? https://wideopenschool.org/ has a list of resources for students. This link also has a list of STEM ideas your child may be interested in.
- Support C-Ville is a local site that has a terrific list of ways to help and ways to get help should your family be in need. This may be the best source for what is available in our local area.
- Here is a list of resources families may need here around town. The list is pretty extensive and also a bit out of date as it was put together prior to the crisis, so we will keep this as a running item as our needs are ever-changing. If you need any help from any of these agencies, I would call first as hours and resources available are also ever-changing.
- Albemarle County’s Webpage has a link to community resources for families who may need additional support during this time. Please click here to see the variety of resources offered to support families. In addition, the same site has some at-home learning resources available for parents and students in middle school.
