Professional Learning Goal
To enable teachers of Years 3-6 to use the PLAN software to enter data, in both literacy and numeracy, generate and analyse Class Analysis sheets and Learning Plans to find the ‘where to next’, design continuous formative assessment, plan differentiated, explicit and systematic teaching sequences.
Teaching and learning cycle
The teaching and learning cycle underpins all teaching and learning and is applied to all key learning areas.
PLAN software supports the teaching and learning cycle
Literacy Continuum K-10
The PLAN software will contain all 16 clusters of student development levels within the Literacy continuum K-10 to support all learners (K-2, 3-6 and 7&8) including G & T.
Numeracy Continuum
The Numeracy continuum K-10 has been developed from the learning framework in number. It is a synthesis of many years of research.
The Numeracy continuum is a progression of learning that can be used when observing students working on problems in mathematics and provides teachers with an explicit framework of student strategies.
Assessment for/assessment of learning
Effective implementation requires teachers to move from perceiving assessment information as something separate from teaching and learning processes to seeing the information as an integral part of it for both themselves and their students.
