Thank you for continuing to support your children in studying their multiplication and division facts at home!
Science & Social Studies
We are beginning our unit on animals and environments. We will be learning about animal adaptations, food chains, and different land and water environments!
Social Studies
We are finishing up learning about the Civil War and how SC was involved. Next, we will be learning about how SC changed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
How can you support your children at home?
- Assignments will be written in your child's agenda each day. Please support your child is studying for upcoming tests. Study guides are sent home completed at least two days before the test. While we review in class the day before, studying at home will only increase their chance of success! Some study strategies include making flash cards or even calling out the questions and having your child call out the answers. If you need any more tips on study skills, please let your child's teacher know!
- Working on one-digit and two-digit addition and subtraction with your child will help them greatly in math this year. Students can make their own flashcards to review, or you can even call out facts to them to solve mentally.
- Your child should read for at least 20 minutes each night. One way to support them as readers is to ask them to talk about what they have read! Here is a link to some possible questions to ask your child after they read:
