What's Happening in Class?

Reading

  • This month your student will be working on sight words; at, the, it, was, etc.
  • Letters of the Month- B, P, R, D
  • Rhyming words

Parent Points

Ways to help at home-

Have your child complete a scavenger hunt by finding all the sight words placed around the house. Have your child write down all the words that are found. After reading, writing, and saying the word aloud, your child is sure to get the hang of sight words in no time!

Math

  • Counting to 50
  • sorting objects by shapes/ colors
  • take aways

Parent Points

Since Easter is fast approaching, have your child sort the eggs in to separate colored piles and count aloud how many are in each pile. Parent involvement is important in a child's success! Make learning fun for you and your child!

Parent's Corner

Make sure that students are reading with parents each night! Whether it is a book or a cereal box, the time spent reading is more important to me, than the material that is read! I am so proud of how our class is doing this year, I have seen them grow into such amazing little people and can't wait to see where the rest of the school year takes us.

Next month we will start our assessments so you can see how much your student has grown since the beginning of the year.

Thank you parents for working with me and being so supportive of your little ones throughout their first year in school!

Have a great day!
