Dear Parents/Families,
Thank you for taking the time and responsibility to continue to help your child continue learning. Thank you for having your child complete Week 1 of remote learning, the assignment from Mr. Cook. Starting next week, Monday, April 20th, your child will have assignments from their homeroom teacher. This will be explained further down.
This is a long newsletter, but I hope to get all the important information out to you in this one newsletter regarding our continuation of remote learning vs a handful of smaller messages.
I hope this newsletter finds you well. Our goal is, first and foremost, to make sure everyone is doing ok. Do you need anything? Please let us know. Health and safety are our top priority during this time. Along with the social and emotional well being. Please make sure you are taking care of you and your family, and if you need anything, even if it is just to talk, please reach out. Once those things are taken care of, we can move forward to having your child move on to the educational learning opportunities we have put together for the remainder of the year, remotely.

New Remote Learning (2 activities per subject per week)
April 20th-June 5th
Below you will find directions on how your child can access their educational and learning opportunities for the remainder of the year. The suggested time for 3rd graders to be doing classwork is 1 to 2 (MAX) hours per day. I know family dynamics are all different, some working from home, some still working so unable to keep tabs on your child's work throughout the day, some only have one computer/access point, etc. So with all the differences, we are giving you a weeks worth of activities and your child will have the whole week to work at a time that works for your family. IF you need more of a daily plan, I am more than willing to help you figure out a plan that can work with your family. My plan is to touch base with each family and each student several times weekly (this can be through Google Classroom, Zoom, Remind, SeeSaw, Facetime, Messenger Video Call, Email, text, phone, etc.). Please know that I am available if you or your child have any questions. 24/7! If you need me before a scheduled meeting time, or if your child can't attend, don't wait for the meeting, reach out via Remind or email. Anytime! 24/7!

DIGITAL
PAPER COPIES
To keep the handling of paperwork to a minimum, it would be ideal to have you snap a photo of the assignments from your device and send it to me by SeeSaw, Email, or Remind by Sunday of each week. I have to see work from his/her packet on a weekly basis. Please send at minimum 3 pictures a week! 1-reading, 1-math, 1-writing!
This is the most convenient and is the safest way we can give your child participation credit for the work completed and so you do not have to worry about getting the packet back to me. If you have any questions on the work, you can snap a picture, email it to me or text via Remind and I can help. I am always available. The time of day does not matter! Just please remember to SEND pictures of the completed work from that week's packet in order for your child to receive participation credit. Pictures of assignments via email or SeeSaw are due by Sunday each week.

Sample At-Home Daily Learning Schedule
Last but not least...
As mentioned above, if you need help coming up with a daily learning plan/schedule, please reach out. These educational opportunities are designed by the 3rd-grade team and we hope to have participation from all of our students. As teachers, we are required to keep track of who has participated and who has not! This is not the traditional school setting, so remember we're all learning! Please, ask, ask, ask...for help with anything! At any time of the day! Ask away! If it's about devices, the Internet, assignments, books, content, etc., it doesn't matter. There is never a silly question! I want to help! And I will help you find a solution! If there are things that are not working for you, please reach out to me right away. I want to make it as easy as possible and I want to help support my students and you, their families! We WILL get through this together, and I THANK you for taking on this responsibility to help support your child's learning!
Please take care! The first priority is to continue to keep you and your family safe and healthy!
Together, WE are Cardinal Strong!
