A Message From Your Principal

Ladera STARS Academy Families,

We had a busy week at STARS Academy!

Our 1st-5th grade scholars attended assemblies to learn about and discuss behavior expectations while at school. We discussed doing the right thing even when no one is watching, having an "open" brain, following adult directions the FIRST TIME, and being kind to others. TK and K classes received individual presentations in their classrooms where we discussed how to play safely, how to line up, and how to eat and pick up after ourselves. We also discussed safety and the importance of following teacher directions the FIRST TIME and remaining with their teacher at all times. I highly encourage you to ask your scholars about what we discussed and reinforce these expectations with them regularly.

TK and K classes began PE on Monday! Check out the picture below to see our littlest scholars enjoying a game of Red Light, Green Light.

Authors John and Shaunna Stith read their book, Black Beach, to our scholars and taught us about the origins of Earth Day. They also encouraged our scholars to do their part to protect our Earth. (picture below)

Remember, September is National School Attendance Awareness Month! We celebrate this to increase and strive for consistent student attendance. We see the best learning and growth when scholars attend school regularly. Next week is Attendance Spirit Week, see the flyer below to learn how your scholar can show their spirit!

Are you looking for ways to support our school? Join our PTA! The PTA supports so many wonderful events and specialists on our campus. Keep scrolling to check the status of our PTA Membership drive. Also, be sure to check with your child's teacher to learn about volunteer opportunities in the classroom.

Thank you for your support,
