Schoology Flyer for Parents

Hey Pack Parents! Do you to check and see if your student's items have been turned in and graded in Schoology??

If yes, please see this Schoology Flyer for Parents to help you with accessing Schoology.

A Peek into the Classroom

Check out *new* WHHS teacher, Ms. Haskin, who teachers Individual Instruction and supports English courses. She brings a wealth of teaching experience to the Wolf Pack! Students are learning about the reading targets for college and career readiness. Students are also learning how to read and write a formal essay all while practicing social distancing and proper sanitation. Students will then turn in a rough draft paragraph later this week. Thank you Ms. Haskin and students for allowing us to "peek into your classroom!"
Check out WHHS Science teacher, Mrs. Miller. In their chem. lab last week students learned how to light and adjust a bunsen burner. Then they tested 7 known and identified 2 unknown solutions of metal ions by the color produced in the flame. The light created in a flame test is individual to the metal ion. This is how fireworks produce colored light in the sky. Thank you Mrs. Miller for allowing us to peek into your classroom!
Check out WHHS Theatre Teacher, Mrs. Nylund-Lieb's class! The La Jolla Playhouse paid our Introduction to Theatre class a “virtual visit” on Monday to talk about The Actor’s Tool Box. Students were thrilled too hear from Teaching Artist Sophia Zaragoza about how what we are learning in class about ensemble building, safe spaces to take risks, and using our rich imaginations connects to the professional theatre world. Thank you Mrs. Nylund-Lieb and students for allowing us to peek into your classroom!
Counselor's Corner: Important news you can use with grade level specific information!

Need a free COVID Test?

Please know that even while the County has moved into a more restrictive level (Purple), since the GUHSD and West Hills have already been underway in our Level 2 plan with 25% of our students able to attend one day a week, we will continue to do so as long as everyone remains healthy.

Please continue to practice 6 ft. social distancing, wearing face masks at all times on campus, washing hands for 20 seconds, using hand sanitizer frequently, and taking daily temperatures with remaining at home if at 100 degrees or more. We THANK YOU for helping to keep our community safe and operating!

Click here for the County flier of where you can get a free Covid test should you or a neighbor like to take one.

In the event a student tests positive for COVID-19, please notify your students’ Assistant Principal immediately for everyone’s health and safety. All information will remain confidential.

We appreciate you and know when we each do our part, we are better together!

Student Handbook

Students and Parents/Guardians:

The faculty and staff are proud to partner with you in the education of your student. Educational success for all students cannot be complete without an effective partnership with all parents/guardians. You are the most essential part of your children’s education, and it is important that we build a strong relationship in order to best serve your student’s educational needs.

We strongly encourage you to review the 2020-21 Student Handbook.

This week we highlight the Responsible Use Policy.

All students in the Grossmont Union High School District are expected to embrace the following principles as they utilize technology to enhance their learning experience, collaborate, and communicate with school and community members. For more information, see our policy on page 16.

Neck and Face Gaiters Reminder

Also, The CDC has updated their website and our District has asked us to make sure we are not allowing neck and face gaiters on campus any longer. Please see the CDC page here for more information. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Thank you!
