Shark "Shout Outs" MRHS's way of Appreciating the Great People That Make Our School "A Home Away From Home" Please share any good news with us!
A very grateful Shark Shout Out to Anne D'Urso, Cape Cod Director of AFS, and Leah Tambolleo, an AFS alumna, who visited MRHS today (Friday) to talk to students during Jawsome about AFS, whether studying abroad or hosting an exchange student. Both women gave up their personal time to answer questions, explain programs, discuss scholarships, encourage both hosting and traveling, and help our students expand their horizons!
Thank you Mrs. D'Urso and Mrs. Tambolleo!
Ms. Forte-Doyle
I'd like to offer a shark shout out to Cheryl Dufault and especially to Karen Manning for alerting everyone on our team ASAP of a medical issue that required our attention right away. Karen's timeliness made a huge difference for me -- the issue had left me flummoxed and unsure what to do. Once I had the information, everything fell into place.
Matt Brown
To our MRHS administrators who have shared some of their valuable time meeting 1:1 with students to support their graduation. Feedback from students is hugely positive. As a teacher I feel it supports me greatly in my efforts and exemplifies and models the principle of our 620 theme.

Celebrating Pleasant Bay
Coming soon to a school library, town library, and town hall near you!!! Booklets celebrating Pleasant Bay, created by MRHS students in Creative Writing, Sandscript, and Art class, will be available for perusal in every Monomoy school library, Brooks Library, Eldredge Library, and Harwich and Chatham town halls.
Many thanks to Friends of Pleasant Bay for their generous grant and Thompson's Printing of Orleans for all their help, kindness, and fabulous work.
Democracy Alive & Well at MRHS!
Thanks to a generous grant from the JFK Museum, Mr. Bate's US 1 class traveled down to the JFK Museum on 2/15/18 to participate in the Museum's Federal Budget Simulation along with students from Dennis-Yarmouth High School.
This simulation tasks students to create a budget for the Federal Government through thoughtful, and sometimes heated, debate. Compromise is the rule of the day as students realize that there are a lot of worthy causes but only a finite amount of financial resources available. This fact forces students to think strategically when spending money in order to proactively solve problems that might save money that can then be spent elsewhere.
Mr. Bate's students did a WONDERFUL job advocating for their budget decisions. Yay Democracy!
