Notes from the Nurse
Hello MJ1 families! We’ve been out of school for almost a month now due to the Governor’s Safer at Home order, and hopefully we are all following the social distancing recommendations when we need to go out. These unprecedented times are difficult on all of us. We are all trying to stay healthy, happy and sane while taking on the responsibility of being a teacher, parent, and financial provider. I thought I would pass along some information regarding the Coronavirus that could help your kids better understand what is happening and why we are staying home and out if school. I also thought a little information to help both parents and kids de-stress during this coronavirus.
Exercise and getting outside is also a great way to de-stress, so get outside when the weather is nice and smell the spring air!!
Take care and stay healthy,
Nurse Pam Holtz

Your email should include:
Name of person picking up the meals
Number of meals requested
Pick-up location (MHLT, Hwy 70 W Baseball Complex pavilion, or Lake Tom Community Center)

OR
You're welcome to request recurring meals (pickup all three days) in which case we will always have meals ready for you and you will not need to email daily.
These meals are provided at no cost to any family; even if you normally pay full price for school breakfast and lunch, you are eligible to receive free meals during this period of school closure mandated as a result of COVID-19. Children under 18 living in the home, but not attending Minocqua J1, are also eligible to receive these meals.

Reimbursement for Families During COVID-19 Crisis
Expensify.org/hunger to reimburse families in need during COVID-19 crisis. These are unprecedented times, and it's inspiring to see communities rising to the challenge. However, not everyone has the resources to "shelter in place" especially the millions of people in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Living paycheck to paycheck is hard when millions of businesses around the nation are closing down indefinitely, and hourly workers (including those dependent upon tips) are the hardest hit. In particular, families with kids whose primary meals happen at school are especially vulnerable when those schools shut down.
With this in mind, Expensify.org is going to temporarily redirect all of its charitable funds to Expensify.org/hunger. With its ability to reimburse volunteers directly in real-time,
Expensify.org is uniquely positioned to help families in need immediately. Until today, this fund was focused on paying off kids' "lunch debts", but with schools closed around the nation, that isn't the top priority. Instead, we're devoting everything to a new program: matching SNAP grocery purchases up to $50 per family.

NFL HUDDLES UP TO PROVIDE FREE DIGITAL EDUCATION
The NFL and several of its charitable partners have made digital education and wellness resources available for free for teachers, parents and students across the country to utilize during this unprecedented time when alternate forms of learning are needed. These resources provide additional opportunities to learn outside of school as millions of students across the country are displaced from their classrooms.
The NFL family is taking a first step to rally together to help those who need it most during this time and will be announcing additional relief efforts and financial support shortly. During this past season, the NFL asked our fans and communities to huddle together and give back as part of Huddle for 100. There is no more important time than now to continue this critical message.
As part of this first phase of support, the NFL and its partners have made a number of online resources available to students and families. Click here for those resources.
