Watch DOGS Meeting
On Thursday, September 13th from 6:30-7:30PM we will be having our first ‘Dads and Kids’ Pizza Night at our school. We will meet in the school cafeteria at 6:30 pm for FREE pizza and drinks. At 7:00 there will be a presentation about our WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) Program. WATCH D.O.G.S.® is an innovative program being used by schools across America which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s life. Our goal is to have you spend at least one day this year at the school to be a positive male role model and to provide an extra set of eyes and ears.
Dads, granddads, uncles . . . this is your chance to have a night out alone with your student in a fun atmosphere at school.
In order to participate and receive one volunteer hour, you need to complete the signup genius link below saying that you will attend the pizza night so we’ll have an accurate head count for the food.
Boosterthon
Be sure to read the Boosterthon document in this week's Friday Flyer. It includes lots of details on the Boosterthon activities leading up to the Fun Run. In addition to all of the fun, students are also learning through #MindSpark, which is a mystery theme that combines S.T.E.A.M. skills with character building. Students are learning more about five 21st-century character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world:
● Growth Mindset
● Zest
● Integrity
If you haven’t registered your child on funrun.com, use our school registration code: 542562

Mastery/Enrichment (ME) Time
This year, one of our initiatives is to incorporate daily Mastery/Enrichment (ME) time. This is a set time every day for students to have extra practice to master standards. By having this time every day, teachers can make agile plans and group students flexibly to help them keep up and also work to fill any achievement gaps they are experiencing. For students who demonstrate mastery of the standards, this time will be used to enrich by exploring the standards with a higher level of complexity and creativity. ME time is every afternoon from 2:35 until dismissal.
