Mid-Year Parent Survey

Please take a few minutes to complete our mid-year parent survey (below). The feedback will be reviewed by our leadership team and used to identify action steps related to our continuous improvement plan. You can fill this out one time based on your family's overall experience this year at Dunwiddie, or you can complete it for each child separately if you feel that would provide us with more accurate information.

Winter Reminders

School Closing - Decisions to close schools due to inclement weather will be made by 6am. Notifications will be by email/text/phone as well as website and local TV stations.

Please make sure that your child comes to school each day prepared for the weather. Winter coats, hats and mittens are very important for keeping kids comfortable and safe during recess. If there is snow on the ground, students who choose to play on the snow hills, woodchips or in the field will be required to have snow pants and boots. Those students without boots and snow pants will be limited to playing on the blacktop only.

Recess will be outdoors unless the temperature or wind chill drops below 0 degrees.

Extra Clothing - Please keep extra socks/pants in your child's backpacks.

Want to save some time in the morning?

We serve breakfast each school day from 8:15-8:40am. Students who take the bus can eat when they arrive!

We are so excited to announce that starting on January 6th, We will be offering our elementary students hot breakfast every Tuesday and Friday!! We will still offer our other breakfast options on these days, but wanted to mix it up a bit in the colder months!!

Just a reminder that if your student(s) are eligible for free or reduced priced meals, this includes breakfast, so they can benefit from two meals every day! Regular cost is $1.50.

Weekly Cool Tools

Each week throughout the school year, we have a common Cool Tool lesson that is taught in every classroom. These lessons focus on appropriate behavior and problem solving strategies to common challenges or experiences students have at school.

The Cool Tool topics for the coming weeks are:

Bathroom

Respecting All Adults

Rough vs. Safe Play

Grab N Go Program

Hello DES Families,

Two times per month, students who are signed up for the program will take home free food and snacks in a brown paper grocery bag. If you prefer to pick up the food or would like to shop in our pantry, please contact Joanna Bannon, DES Principal. The intent of the program is to ensure families have food for the weekend ahead.

Any family may complete the attached registration form and return it to school. The form is required for funding purposes only, and no identifying information is shared with anyone outside of the PW-S School District and Saukville Community Food Pantry. You do not have to “qualify” for this service, and this service does not affect any other funding or resources you or your children may receive.

If you are unable to print/return the form, you can call the office or email Joanna Bannon.

If you have any questions about this program, please contact:

Joanna Bannon, Principal DES, joanna.bannon@pwssd.k12.wi.us, 262-268-5700

We are in need of brown bags, so please feel free to send those to school. Thank you in advance for your help in making this program successful. We look forward to having this program available to our students and families!

DPC Student Directory

Dunwiddie Parent Connection is putting together a student directory with parent contact information. We hope that this will be helpful to families that want to connect outside of the school day/year! If your family has more than one student at DES, simply fill out the form again for each additional student.

This is completely voluntary and not organized by the school for confidentiality purposes. Please note that the information provided by you will be shared with the other families that complete this form.
