Summer Reading
Keep Those Reading Skills Sharp!
Summer is the time that students either leap ahead or fall behind!
Your children have worked hard all year to improve as readers. In the summer months, all children are at risk of losing some of the learning obtained during the school year. Help your children continue to SOAR as readers by making sure they continue to read over the summer. Check out the resources below to help find great books for summer reading!
Electronic Library Books
Students can read electronic books purchased by our school library using computers, laptops, or tablets with internet access. They just need to log in using their School Net credentials and search for electronic books in Destiny catalog.
Capstone Interactive
Students have access to over 4,000 interactive books through August 31st. Go to mycapstonelibrary.com and log in with these credentials:
user: capstonesummer
password: interactive19
JLG Digital
JLG Digital is a book streaming service that works like Netflix. Electronic books are available to stream on computers, laptops, or iPads. The book selections rotate periodically, so there are always new books available. Students can log in using their School Net credentials.
Summer Reading Program
Norfolk Public Library holds a Summer Reading Program each year. The whole family can participate by reading books and becoming eligible for prizes! Registration begins June 29th. Stop by your local library branch to load up on great books and enjoy the library special programs and events this summer!
