The MSBA John T. Belcher Memorial Scholarship fund was established in memory of John T. Belcher, a former vice president with the investment banking firm of Dain Bosworth Incorporated. Belcher was instrumental in developing a number of innovative financing programs which improved the learning environment for thousands of Missouri public school students. Each year FutureBuilders awards over $12,000 in scholarships to students in MSBA’s member districts. Each regional winner receives a $1000 scholarship and is automatically eligible to compete for the statewide winner that provides an addition $1500.
- Scholarship Description
Parent Projects purpose is to create a positive and material impact on families by reducing barriers to safe living environments for older adults. We are interested in finding out how students themselves, or someone they know, had the opportunity in improving an older adult’s living environment, as well as how their experience impacted their approach on helping others.
Parent Projects awards four (4) $500 annually scholarships; two (2) in the Fall and two (2) in the Spring. We will be awarding one (1) from personal experience stories and one (1) from working in the industry with senior adults. Applicants must complete a 400 to 500 word essay about a situation where they or someone they know had an opportunity to improve the living environment for an older adult.
