At the April 3rd School Board Meeting, the district adopted two new Reading Curricula for next year in accordance with the Alaska Reads Act. At the Elementary School we will be implementing Benchmark Advance. In the Middle School High School we will use HMH's Into Literature.

DES students were busy reading and earning prizes after Spring Break competing in the I-did-a-read Trail. The LINKED Grant sponsored check point #4 with Bananagrams. Fifty students earned their own Bananagrams game. Way to GO! 🍌🏆🏁

The LINKED Grant is partnering with local businesses to distribute books to the community. Since last summer we have had books available at the Dillingham Public Library. We are now partnering with other community spots for distribution and having literacy materials ready for customers. MYSPACE has fresh books added to their collection as of last week... if you need a book, stop by and see what's available! BBAHC has various departments receiving books for community members waiting, as well as books to take home (FREE). If you would like books for your business to distribute or have for customers waiting, email Sarah Bailey sbailey@dlgsd.org.
