Warm welcome for LaGretta Childs- a new team member in the lunchroom!

This week we are happy to welcome a new lunchroom supervisor, LaGretta Childs. LaGretta has worked with children for a number of years, and has recently moved to the Woodridge area. We are so happy to have her help and please extend a warm welcome to our staff when you have the chance.

If you have not had a chance to watch the heartfelt advice video that has been posted a number of times on FB, I've posted it below. "Out of the mouths of babes..."

Communicate "Glo" and "Grow" during conferences, as well has how each family can support their child's educational journey.

Support students with low attendance

Classroom teachers can make supportive problem-solving contact during conferences for any student in their class that has less than a 95% attendance record for the school year, so far. (A good gage is to check to see if a student already has 4+ days of absence or has 4+ late arrivals or early dismissals.) It is important to address the concern of late arrivals or discuss information about chronic illness with families, in person. If you would like help with compiling an attendance report for a specific student or students, please be in touch with me.
