We would like to welcome Mrs. Daysha Gibson as our new Vice President of Fundraising! Mrs. Gibson has been with us since 2018. Her two kids, Lauren (Class of 2018) and Erica (Class of 2022) have been amazing performers. She joins the executive board with many other new members in new positions this year! Welcome Mrs. Gibson!!

JAZZ BAND IS IN FULL SWING

The Roswell Jazz Band is having a great start to their new season. With a full rhythm section, the band is almost complete. We could use a few more saxophones and trumpets! BAND BOOSTER UPDATES

Big picture

DID YOU ASK A FRIEND TO DONATE TO M.A.R.C.H. TODAY?

Our ONE fundraiser for the year is M.A.R.C.H. We need all hands on deck. Yes Parents and Guardians, that includes you too! :-). Your kids do amazing things with the Roswell Band and they deserve the best. Fulton County Schools only provides about 5% of the budget that the program needs to operate. With your help, with hope to raise at least $20,000 to help our kids continue to PLAY STRONG!

Your student’s goal is to raise $200 by Friday, March 12.

Here’s a simple, sample script for you right out of the student packet!

“Hello, my name is __________. Can I have a moment of your time? The Roswell High School Band is having a unique fundraiser that I hope you can support. It’s called M.A.R.C.H. which stands for Musicians Acting with Responsibility, Compassion and Hard work. Instead of selling you something, I am asking you to sponsor me for a day of community service on March 13th. That day, all of the Roswell High band students will be working to beautify Roswell. It’s a great experience! Some of the worksites include Smith Plantation, Mimosa Hall, City of Roswell Parks, Roswell North Elementary School and other well-known places. A donation of at least $20 is my hope, but I will take anything you can offer. We accept cash, checks or you can even donate online at RoswellBand.com if that’s easier for you. All donations are tax-deductible! Would you be able to sponsor me and the Roswell Band?”

· That’s a one-time donation of $200 from one family or business.

· That’s (4) $50 donations from aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

· That’s (20) $10 donations from friends.

· Or (200) $1 donations from all your contacts in Snapchat. :-)

Make sure you have saved March 13 from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM on your family calendars. This is the service date and we need all students to participate!

PARENTS: Here are some promotional flyers that you can hang in your office or send to your co-workers.

IT'S BANQUET TIME!

BANQUET CO-CHAIRS NEEDED

When’s the last time you got to plan a great party? It’s been a while! Join the fun and head up a small group to plan the end-of-year band banquet. The banquet is held at the beginning of May and typically involves food, music, an awards ceremony, and signing of senior photos. Ideally, the committee would start meeting in February to set a date and plan the budget, location, food, theme, communication, and award order placement. If you love planning events, the band could use your talents. Do it for the kids!

Contact President@RoswellBand.com if you are able to help.
