Carruth House

Whangarei Boys' High School Term 4 Edition 2, 2018

Big picture

That's it, 2018 has come to an end!

And now 2018 has gone - done! finished!!!. Wow - just where did it go? As is our usual practice these days, we had a fabulous Christmas dinner the other night. Thanks to Mr Tikena, along with Scott and Cole on the BBQ - who cooked the steaks to perfection, while Miss Sue and Miss Ivanka put together an awesome meal for us all to enjoy. Thank you very much!

The Parihaka run has been done for another year. Running from the base to the summit at 241m and back down again was not easy given how hot the day was. Well done to all who accomplished the feat!

Congratulations to those who were awarded certificates at the junior Prizegiving. It just proves a point that if you get 'stuck in', you can accomplish great things.

After 4 years of excellent and dedicated service, I would like to thank our out-going Parent Rep, Penny Gordon, for all the work she has put in. She has been a wonderful representative for you all, but all good things must come to an end. Saying that though, I am very pleased to announce that Leigh Askew will be taking over the role and has, already, attended her first Hostel Governance meeting. She is looking forward to it and we welcome her on-board.

Well, there is only one more thing for me to say, from all those at Carruth House - we wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Take care, and see you all in 2019.
