Inspiring Invention and 3D Printing in 4th-6th Grade Girls
What is it?
The Knight Society is a returning opportunity for girls in grades 4th-6th grade to participate in a 9-10 week after school program that will focus on invention and 3D printing through methods that use the Engineering Design Process and Design Thinking.
When: Wednesdays 3:30-5:30 - beginning January 8, 2020
Where: Fort Thomas Independent Schools Work and Makerspace located at Launch @ 20 Grand Avenue

Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative
Members of the club will participate in the Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative's Invention Showcase on March 7 at the University of Cincinnati's Tangeman University Center.
Who was Margaret E. Knight?
The club is named after Margaret E. Knight, who was one of the most famous female inventors of the 19th Century. Knight was one the first woman to hold a U.S. Patent. Her first invention, at the age of 12, was a stop-motion safety mechanism used to prevent accidents in a textile mill. One of her most famous was a machine that folded and glued paper to make the first flat bottom paper bag.
