Lakeview Families,

I don't know about you, but beyond excited for the 22-23 school year! As a campus we are laser focused on community engagement, prioritizing our culture, communication, and connection with one another.

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 10, 2022. The Lakeview Staff has been working hard, and we are ready to welcome your student with a warm smile! School begins promptly at 8:55 AM, so please make sure your student arrives on time and ready to learn. We will spend the day building relationships and learning #TheLakeviewWay in Leopard YOUniversity, and I am confident your student will come home with great stories to tell about their first day of school!

This year we have several student, family, and school events planned, and I hope that you will join us as we grow as a community of learners and leaders. During the months of August and September, you can look forward to lively events like Open House, a Back to School Dance, and our first LEAP Day!

You can learn more about campus and community events in the newsletters I send out on the weekends (primarily Sunday nights). They will always contain campus and district updates, as well as a two-week calendar of upcoming campus events. Newsletters will be emailed and posted on our social media platforms, too. If you receive an email from me during the week, I ask that you read it promptly because it will feature a special announcement that requires your timely attention.

As we look ahead to next week, I want to close by thanking you for entrusting your student in our care. We are blessed to serve the Lakeview community and we give our best each day to ensure your student feels a sense of belonging when they walk through the doors.

If your child tests positive for COVID-19:

• Keep your child home
• Call the COVID Call Center (CCC) or self report from the district COVID web page to obtain a health action plan

• As of July 29, 2022: Texas Department of State Health Services requires the student to stay home through day 5 from the onset of symptoms

• Campus will be notified of absence by the COVID Call Center or online form. Families do not need to contact the campus to report the absence.
• Must be fever free for 24 hours with improving symptoms before returning on the date specified in the plan provided by the District.
• You must report within 7 days of testing positive to ensure proper documentation and recording of absences.

The Meal Rates for the 2022- 2023 School Year are:

Breakfasts:

• Elementary Paid Breakfasts: $1.35
• Elementary Reduced Breakfasts: $0.30
• Secondary Paid Breakfasts: $1.35
• Secondary Reduced Breakfasts: $0.30
• Visitor/ Adult Breakfast: $2.50

Lunches:

• Elementary Paid Lunches: $2.85
• Elementary Reduced Lunches: $0.40
• Secondary Paid Lunches: $3.10
• Secondary Reduced Lunches: $0.40
• Visitor/ Adult Breakfast: $4.20
