Rio Carnival

Rio Carnival is a festival in Brazil that lasts for five days. It is a time for all of Rio to come together. It is a very popular tourist attraction. Carnival celebrates the unique culture of Brazil. We saw tons of giant parade floats and elaborate costumes. We heard a type of music called "samba". It is a very exciting holiday!

Maracana Stadium

Soccer is the most important sport in South America. In Brazil, they call soccer "football". Maracana Stadium is a gigantic soccer stadium. We got tickets to watch the team Flamengo and it was awesome! It was packed because Flamengo is one of the most successful teams, and the stadium can fit 80,000 people in it.
