A Message from the Principal

Good afternoon, Golden Dolphins!

We had a great week celebrating Inclusive Schools Week and visiting with author Sue Fliess. Attendance was spotty this week with many students absent for colds and other seasonal illnesses. Parents, if your child is ill, please keep them at home until they are feeling better. This helps everyone in their class to stay healthy.

Students are getting excited about the upcoming holidays and telling us about their plans for winter break. A huge thank you for your support of our annual Angel Tree. Many families will be blessed as a result of your donation.

We have many grade levels celebrating the winter holiday with classroom parties next week. Please remember to bring a photo ID and state your reason for coming into the building when asked by our security officer. I also ask that you wear your visitor pass for all to see while navigating your way through the school.

Report card review update, so far % of our families have reviewed their child's report cards. Let's try to make it to 75% by the end of next week.

Our SCA has planned a week filled with Golden Dolphin spirit leading up to the holiday break.

See the flyer below for mote details.

December is Computer Science Month @ AES

Big picture
Computer Science Education Month aims to get students excited about computational thinking and computer coding. During the entire month of December, students will be engaged with contributors, concepts and processes within Computer Science and participate in coding activities. More information will be posted on our website in the coming days.

Reporting Student Absences

LCPS schools will be using ParentVUE as our primary tool for families to communicate student absences, tardies, and early dismissals to our school. You will find the Report Attendance option in both the mobile app and web version for all your children. Note that this function only reports attendance to the front office. Teachers will not see the notes submitted through this process. Click here for ParentVUE tutorials and video support.
